OT, but following the subthread of avoidance LOL
I set my GPS to avoid ferries because I did NOT want to take the Moggill Ferry in Brisbane ... but I wondered why my GPS was not following the major road signs when we got near the Victoria border ???

It took me a while to realise it was avoiding the ferries 'like I told it to'

I have rules for the GPS
1. Follow your Common Sense
2. Follow the Road Signs
3. Follow instructions from SWMBO (optional ... but I say this to make her happy ... and talk is cheap LOL :D )
4. Follow the GPS

Safe travels everyone :D

Some states may charge you a "video recognition" fee if you don't have your tag.

I went with Qld's govia because the is no annual/monthly charge.
There are times when the Toll road is worth every penny they charge - Gateway Bridge in Brisbane and the M7 in Sydney.
I can happily avoid the tolls in Melbourne.

It's a pity that I can't avoid the really big toll going South from Melbourne.
