Diesel Heating

The burner air inlet for ours must be well hidden.
Not visible when I built a plywood cover.
I assumed the cabin air inlet was the only one. It is mounted in the dinette back wall behind the driver’s seat.
Maybe that’s the ‘installation problem’ Dometic fixed... I left the technician to do his job while I busied myself elsewhere in Girt.
If I had Girt handy I’d go out and check. Bit of a long drive...

AHA!!
So the burner inlet and outlet are BOTH on the bottom! I reckon ours must be side-by-side, as I could only see one pipe heading down through the floor.

Maybe, check it carefully when she gets home. Just in case it's a faulty installation.

Nothing like waking up after hearing putt putt all night and being surrounded by a cloud of diesel exhaust up to a meter high, hate them.

My little gas bottle wood heater, uses very little wood, has a stack high enough to disperse any residue and keeps the 12m bus at 25deg all night. Cost nothing to build and with a $149 cordless electric chainsaw of ebay, no one knows we are cutting wood and we clean up lots of camp sites with branches etc laying round.

Like my quiet at night, especially after a gig.

Hopefully you can get an idea of the construction from the photo's, all junk from the transfer station and pretty simple. It now has a solid steel grate, the slat grate burnt to quickly but the flat steel plate works well. Have to put some protection round the flue some time so people don't grab it when they come into the bus, which a lady did once, after being warned not to touch it. Have bought heat resistant paint for it, one day will get round to sanding it down and painting it, one day.
