Sort of a given Robert....I hold what is classed as a "national licence" hehehe , another joke on the people .
And don't need the signs up when under instruction as Shirley mentioned .
My next door does it when his wife is behind the wheel . She has no intention of getting a heavy vehicle licence .

In NSW the driver under instruction has to buy a learners permit for the rig they plan to drive. At one stage you had to answer all the knowledge questions before you could get the permit, but that might have all changed now. No idea what the deal is in SA, I can't see Margaret ever getting behind the wheel of the Ford Cargo and Rustic Inn Perfection is still a distant dream at the moment.

If you hold a car licence, no need for driver under instruction sign & I was told no need to upgrade my licence to LR as long as a person ( Bruce) sat in the passenger seat held a higher licence.

Bruce has anyone ever told you?
I am finding that driving for too long really knackers me out so we are just taking our time as no set in stone times are in place. Terry gave me a good laugh with his comment about "Rustic Inn" being on the road    Re G driving the bus   he did once on the Nulla but when he looked down to see the gearstick that was it, NO more. He can drive if the L sign is on the bus and he has the normal car licence and a suitability licenced driver in passenger seat. Tonight we are at the PIMBA roadhouse and will take the car to Woomera for a poke around and G will be allowed to drive  To those that said you don't need an electric blanket are mad, best thing I ever put in the bus even Brian gets under the blankets. Today has been a fantastic day, sunny and warm, so far no need for the genny to be turned on but it is early 6pm and the nights are freezing. Fuel is $180cpl 2 lit milk is $4.50 :o Time for some fodder now.

Dot,

At Woomera, there is a telescope. Plus a few rockets of course.

Woomera Baker Observatory. Worth a look if the visit/nights match when they are open (generally Friday nights). Run by volunteers. You'll need to search on facebook/google for a phone number.

Food is much cheaper in Woomera (one 'supermarket')

Pimba - $1-80
Coober Pedy - $1-70. (best IGA in SA) Beware of the headwinds heading into Coober Pedy; we got down to 78ks and high fuel consumption.
Marla - $1-86
Erldunda - $2.05 (expensive roadhouse $2 dim sims, excellent Caravan Park)

George, 15 plus years ago when we bought the Coaster, as I posted I only decided to get my LR licence so as I was able to drive it alone, I was told that by the RTA at the time.
