Terry,

generally people use the thin plastic cutting 'mats' to separate the cell and protect the sides. This was one I did.

Even pretty Swedish green is cute.

I'm guessing they are the EVE LFP cells ...... The down side of the solid plastic mats is the don't allow for cooling between the cells. or any exit path for the heat at all. Probably not a problem if the current draw is low and recharge rate is also low.
I'll be drawing something like 450 amps out of these cells at times, still less than 1C I know, but ...... I really don't know much at all about sodium Ion cells, so I'd like to be able to do temp measurements between the cells and cell groups at different loads and charging rates.

No one has any data on this chemistry, much like no one knew anything much about LFP when I started developing the operating regime required for long life from that chemistry back in July 2011.

Someone has to do the science, I can't write papers and books based on what I've read on the interweb like someone we all know ;)

If it's not your a*se it's you elbow .... or in the case my foot or my forehead .... stepped on something that transferred the weight to the arche of the sore foot, that promptly told me to get off, before the other foot was on the ground ... and down I went .... didn't know I'd done any damage until the blood ran into my eyes

My nice new compressor has decided this is as good a time as any to no longer spin the motor more than a few turns, so I can't blow all the rust scale out of the burn chamber in the water heater and chipping the rust scale from where the thermostats mount to sense the tank temp is a very slow process ... and now grit blasting is no longer possible ..... sitting down under the air con vent, enjoy a coffee and a sandwich seems to be the best option ..... as long as I don't fall out of my chair .....

Have you Googled the man's chosen name? The picture looks the same, but the biography is a work of fiction ...

Had a breakthrough, figured out why the hot water service didn't work on mains power. After getting the gas solenoids and burner out, the 240vac element connections and on/off switch were easier to access. Turned out the on/off didn't actually turn on, so I bridged those wires and turned the power on .... hot water :D

I'll look to see if that double thermostat assembly is available through one of the caravan sales mobs, get a replacement air compressor so I can dejunk the burner chamber, and continue with building this sodium ion battery.

I believe I have an appointment to get the left eye cataract done on Friday 14th, so all go at the moment.

Just had another round with the insurance regarding the demolition of the house, if we don't get things sorted this time, I've about had it with NRMA, time to bring the legal people in on the scene.

I don't mind at all ... in fact, as soon as I figure it out I'll share it ;)

My boss used to say 2 things which makes you pause and think about the consequences of your actions.

1. Becareful what you wish for. And,
2. Know the answer before you ask the question.
