G'ay Peter, I'm not a member of CMCA and my first forum other than this one was the AMH and still registered there. To begin with it was fine, then got involved in a lifepo4 forum when I saw some one claiming to know everything about everything and especially lifepo4, posting dangerous information. So pointed out it was wrong, got abused and insulted by a number of CMCA members, had my posts removed and a warning from their anonymous Admin (coward). So tried to be even nicer to put the situation right, got more abusive replies and post removed, with threat of banning, and haven't been back.Hoffysplace wrote:I really dont understand the attitudes of some people on this forum. You bag the shit out of the cmca, the other forum, the other forum mods etc. If you dont want to belong to the other forum then dont. If you dont like the other forums rules thats fine. You dont like or wanna be members of the cmca, then thats fine too. They wont miss you. Why cant everyone just like the forum they are on and leave it at that. Like a bunch of bloody school kids.

It's the pathological bias and prejudice displayed which annoyed me and the preferential treatment of some there, which is the problem. Found it on the road with some CMCA members, who seem to think they are the elites of the world. Also meet some really lovely CMCA people on my trips and made great friends. Most are very near to pulling the pin on their membership, they say it's all going the opposite to what they had hoped and there is nothing in it for them to be members any more. They show me the wanderer, which they call the corporate advertorial for the caravan park and manufacturing industry. As I don't know anything about CMCA, I take their word and reading the Wanderer, it certainly looks that way. Some of the advice given in it, is so bizare, seems to come out of the 18th century.
Could give you an example of what I witnessed and experienced with a group of CMCA members camped at a well known Lake in Vic last year and how they treated other campers, including myself. If it had happened 40 years ago, probably would have flogged the lot of them and drove over their rigs, now just walk away laughing and note who to avoid in the future.
In the world of psychology, childishness is seen within those with infantile primitive mind set, who can't handle debate, learn from others, always want to be right and will do anything they can to avoid being caught out when wrong. So they do what they can to protect their ignorance and inability to cope with the real world.
Learnt very young the hard way, you are never right, only aware of certain aspects of a situation or fact. Unless you take yourself out of situation and view it as a non involved observer, you'll never see the entire picture. That's how I try to approach life, as an observer of myself, so I don't' stuff up as much as I did in the distant past. Also like the people I've come acros on this forum, irrelevant to whether they are in a club or not. it's how you approach life which really counts, not who or what you are.
As a pleasant aside, just got back from a drive with my new neighbours, who took me to a farmers market, (eaglehawk neck) and some local food growers who sell at their gates with honesty boxes. Came back loaded up with fresh organic produce, including new seasons pink eye, kenebec and dutch cream spuds, some wild pepper berry gin, which I would never drink and one of the best bottles of whiskey ever had, don't drink that either, but will this ime.
The neighbours are coming over and we are going to have fresh roasted Tas black back salmon, kenebec chips, organic beer, home made organic wholemeal bread rolls and fresh salad I got today. Can smell the chips and salmon in the oven, within the next couple of hours, my day will be stuffed and satisfied grins will be all around. It's also a lovely warm day, I should be moving soil, but nice opportunities like this are more preferable.
