Was breakfast in bed for the birthday girl, and yet another set of boots. T1, have a few kombi shots to eventually sort out to tease you with, and a ragtop karmann ghia that is a daily drive

Another update, there is a separate section for two car museums. TTonight we are at Roswell, the place that reportedly had UFOs crashing. Tomorrow we will check out the UFO centre. Caroline has done nearly all the driving for the last few days, have not been 100% due to hay fever. Hopefully tomorrow will be better. Its bizzarre buzzing along at 75mph and having trucks pass you. No one seems to care about the speed limit!
We passed a caravan today tootling along at 50 mph, the 5th wheelers on the other hand stay with everyone else, and so do the motorhomes
Saw 2 5th wheelers with a trailer behind the van.

It does take a while to get used to keeping up with the traffic at 80.... and once you do, you drop into the melodic thump-thump, thump-thump, thump-thump.

So, after Rosewll, we came back down to route 66, then through the painted desert and petrified forest areas, just on the arizona border. We detoured up to look at some ruins of an ancient indian village, then went up through the Hopi reservation, over some amazing scenery, to Tuba City, just outside there we came across a site of dinosaur footprints and exposed fossils. From there we made it to the Grand Canyon. Today we flew over it in a helicopter ride, our first flights in one, and what a place to do it.

Its going to take a while to update due to the number of photos, but its worth the wait.

Last week of the first leg, have nearly run through our 3500mile prepaid, looks like death valley will have to wait another time. Thats OK, its a great reason to come back. There are 3 rigs identical to ours parked within 50 m
