Trivia quiz.

Drop in and dribble on about nothing serious. Seriously a mad place to hang out. Better to avoid it if you're not in the mood!!! If you're determined to be sad, bad, mad & angry then move along!!!

Hi Kay
Just seen this thread and could have answered the first question having driven trains over that bridge, however I thought Curdimurka bridge was longer. Check out this video clip https://vimeo.com/74005180

What was the name of the first boat to trade along the Murray River... and how far up and down the river did it travel on its first trip?

I will have a guess at the MV Charles Sturt and it would have gone no further than the shoals just east of Mildura.

Not the Charles Sturt and they didn't get anywhere near Mildura David. A hint, there is the remains of a town close to where they reached with a name that explains a lot.

Kay gets the first half, now for the more difficult second half..... and as a bonus, who were the builder/owners and who among then was the captain?

This was with Mr Google's help - William Randall & built in Adelaide by a German engineer

William Randall and his younger brothers is correct, but they built it about 2 mil up stream from where Mannum now stands, the German "engineer" built the boiler that appeared to breathe as it expanded to an oval shape and returned to a square shape depending on the pressure
Now, how far was their first trading run, where did they reach? It will require a bit more than basic Google searching, but the required information is available by using Google. Keep the hint regarding the small town name in mind
