Re: Greynomad
Been given a‘bubble bottle’ — half filled with water & a straw taped in — to promote deep breathing.
Gotta blow 6~8 blows into it coupla times a day.
Told this will help avoid pneumonia.
Apparently there is a depression in my back where the most damage is. Have to re-inflate right lung to push ribs back into correct alignment.
A bit painful. Got a ‘magic button’ to boost the Fentanyl dose through the cannula as needed.

Re: Greynomad
Lights have just been turned off. Rest time 13:00~15:00.
Son-and-heir, partner & g’daughter have departed for Melbourne.
SWMBO unable to attend today cos she has the beginnings of a cold.
Doesn’t want to share it with me.
Have set up video calls to compensate.
G’nite all. Going to snooze now.

Re: Greynomad

I have been disconnected from the Fentanyl i/v, moved to pill-based pain control, and late yesterday transferred from Albury to Corowa Hospital.
Being just 10km from home rather than 50km makes it much easier for SWMBO to visit. Means she can pop home to feed hounds and return. Also easier if she forgets something I have asked her to bring.
Visiting hours are much more relaxed than Albury... mostly ‘whenever you want to come’.

Further improvement is being in a two-bed ward, rather than a four-bed one. Much quieter.
Still at least a week away from discharge, though.
Regards & God bless,
Ray

That’s a positive development Ray and much easier for Joy as well. Good luck with the rest of your recovery.
