Of course I am Dave. Last thing I want is more ribbing about my Devilled Lasagna.

Oh, you're talking about being sorry for winding up the trailer. Nah, not sorry about that.

We've all made a dumb online purchases. Years back, I paid an extra $400 for bus seats. Some how, instead of setting a maximum bid for 2 seats, I did a Buy Now at the inflated price.Doh. And then, shoes from Aliexpress... not the greatest buy. Or jeans where the inside leg seam curls around to the front. Geez, I even bought the bus off ebay for $5000 delivered

There are some interesting deals about.

jon_d wrote: Mon Mar 03, 2025 8:40 am yeah beeert, Terry could get you one at the auctions.... maybe for a good price??
Jon, that's not very nice. Just because T1 may have paid a premium for a trailer that he can't get his car on.
He'll probably give you some stick about devilled lasagna now. Or something about spoons.
Well, at one stage I had 2 spoons that covered 3 yrs, they scummed to the devilled spoon disease ..... in the Hino ready to travel to Taggerty. In a very touching moment, I was awarded a spoon that covered the two lost spoons ..... that was in the Fuso and suffered the same fate as the two spoon before them ..... so, theoretically, I have 3 spoons, yet in reality, I have no spoons .... Where Jon claims he has 3 spoons in his possession.

Fortunately, the brakes and hubs and wheel brgs are all good on this trailer .... it just needs ..... customising ;) Don't we all customise or vehicle to add that personal touch 8-)

I reckon that most of the blokes here started out hot rodding or customising something when we were kids, and it never stops. I remember back in the day, my mates old man father, telling us, leave it standard boys. It's gunna cost you big money when you start changing things.
And he was right.
But geez we had some some.
Cheers

I had an Austin A30 to which I fitted a new Morris 1100 motor and Morris 100 gearbox after converting it from EW to NS. Boy it had some grunt.

I had a VC slant 6 Valiant, never stopped modifying it until it was repossessed, best thing that ever happened to my wallet  If it wasn't spinning bearing, snapping crankshafts or cam shafts, it went like stink ..... I think about 5,000 miles might have been the longest I ever got out of an engine. Had a 4 brl holley, high lift cam, custom built headers, 3 into 1 and twin 2.5" exhaust and Holden 179 pistons. The claim was you could only bore a slant 6 block out a max of 0.100", but the standard slant 6 piston was 3.40" and the 179 piston was 3.5625" ..... tried to fit 0.060" oversize 179 pistons, but we struck water on the first hard run ..... snapped the crank, bent the rods, snapped the cam and ...... start again  It did rev to 7,500rpm though

Datsun 1600.

180B motor, Twin 45 webers. Head ported until you cut into the water then welded up, big valves. Lumpy cam. 240k pistons machined flat. all balanced, lightened flywheel, and tuftritted (?) crank. stanza 5 speed, 4.1 R180 LSD, 240k(?) front struts with adjustable spring mounts, Commodore calipers, Datsun 1200 power brakes and even a Datsun 200B stalk switch. Geez I miss it.

Easily revved to 6000 in 5th. God only knows how fast that was.
