I thought the same when we bought it, but I've been pleasantly surprised by just how much it can wash in a single load. Enough to fill on of those collapsible buckets from Aldi for the trip from the machine to the clothesline.
It will wash 7 x T shirts and all the undies and socks in a single load, 2 x queen size bed sheets and the two pillowcases in a single load, 7 prs of jeans ..... but about 3 jumpers is getting to the weight limit when they are wet, it screams for mercy with probably 20 beeps in a row, then shuts down on the final spin otherwise and something has to be removed and try again

We bought two of the Aldi collapsible washing lines, only used 1 so far because it's so hot during the day, it holds to machine loads and the first load is dry by the time the third load is ready to hang out, the sheets don't fit of course, so that requires a rope between the rear ladder, the rear awning outer arm and back to the last knob on the anti flapper thingy for the awning .... so it should work ok when free camping
