We've had some great times since the last post on here. Met up with my son and his prospective bride, and they stayed with us in Hervey Bay in the tent, then we all went on to Fraser Islnd for two days. Booked a glamping site, on the east coast. Tracks were deeply rutted by the tour buses and there'd been no rain for ages. Helped a couple that were bogged....no choice, had to help them as they were blocking the track! Once on the beach it was easy. Dingos were ok. Beautiful creatures. Signs up to not feed them as they would become dependant. Maybe that would be the way to treat our unwanted unwelcome visitors!
We enjoyed the trip on Fraser Islnd but were very glad to get off it. The bumps and deep soft sand ....we were all over it!
Now on Inskip Point, its in Wikicamps and Camps7, two areas that caravans and big rigs can park, but one of the areas...Sarawak...was chockers. The other, Dorrigo, was fine. Sea has jelly fish but not bluebottles. Toilets are long drops but clean.
Our genny is currently recharging us, and two other vans close by. The neighbours are great.
The house sit we are doing as from this weekend is quite interesting. The couple are having to dash off ASAP as his mum is getting worse nd they have to have a family conflab about what to do....nursing home, bring her back with them....they don't know at the moment. They have their own challenges as he has lost both of his lower arms, has a contraption on one but nothing on the other. Didn't ask how he did it but its been like that a long time. They spent the five years before they built their home doing the rodeo, exhibition, country show etc, run serving Dagwood dogs etc...made enough to build their $500,000 home, but it was exhausting work. When they started the food van they served healthy food, and were making a huge loss. So they had to bite the bullet and sell deep fried this n that.
She's put together an amazing garden.

It's an edible garden, with food growing I've never heard of before. They have become vegetarians, have read up about all the foods that make you healthy, and have just asked that we pick and freeze some of the plants. They have an old Apaloosa horse, that's a bit cranky becaus he's got a sore dick,

due to having had a cut in it, with an infection that the vet can't treat, she's getting something sent from America to treat it. But Greg ain't going anywhere near the horses dick! They also have a possum that comes to be fed every day as they rescued it when it was a babe.
Their fridges and freezers are chockers with food, and they've told us to help ourselves. It's just 28 Kms from Bundy. So we have a lot of exploring to do.
Greg isn't 100% after his hospitalisation, plus he says he just doesn't want to do more rough roads this year, so Birdsville will be next year now, early on, followed by a trip to WA. that's as things stand at this moment, but we have to be flexible. Always.
Cheers
Dee
