SV V8s were the thing in my days, from just using as built in the car, or using in hotrods ( Ex Prez Southern Beaches Rod and Custom )
When they were due for a valve grind we'd loosen the head studs on one bank and drive it around till it "Popped" loose.
They were a bugger to get off if the head decided to weld itself on.
Tighten it down and do the same on the other bank if it needed it, not always both banks welded down, unless they were alloy heads.
