I asked Wendy if you had the same hitch but she wasn't sure. They certainly made short work of hitching up their car.

Our hitch is a Stowmaster by Roadmaster, the telescopic arms make it so much easier.

Once again I have put these pics on in backwards order but it is a female thing. Before any one says the chains and pins are not on we know that and this is after all just a progress report. Now a question for you lot. The bus is 24v and the car is 12v so do we now get a inverter to go from 24 to 12 to connect to the GV (for the lights) and what notices are we required to put on the back of the car? eg. Vehicle under tow and the Do not overtake turning vehicle ? any other hints tips welcome..

Ask Bernie as he's just been through it.
It's not as simple as 'an inverter' because each are separate circuits.
brakes, l turn, r turn, parkers and maybe reversing....
Not sure which way Bernie went but Redarc make one for the job.

Hi Dot we have what's in the attached photo, cost me around $300 fitted by auto electrician.
The car rear trailer outlet was where he started and went from there to the front of the car with the cable.
Sorry its not a good photo but I have a washing machine next to it and hard to get a good pic, but you will get the jist of it.

The 3rd & 4th pics seem to indicate that the telescopic arms fold back & across the front of Suzy.

Is this position maintained whilst driving the 'Toad' around when disconnected from the bus - or is the entire unit then removed from the front of the car & stored elsewhere whilst driving the car around?

Reason I ask is that when we had our Suzi - 95/96 model I think - it had 2 metal bars protruding about 2" from the grill where the telescopic tow arms connected for towing.

When I took it to our local mechanic for a pre-rego renewal check he advised that, legally, he should reject it due to those projections past the bumper bar... but he "didn't notice them." Nice bloke.

I'm thinking that your tow setup would probably be removed from the car prior to driving?

Our unit stayed on the tow bar of the Winnie, arms lifted up & then to either left or right with a storage bag placed over it to keep any wet weather out, or it could be totally removed & stored.
