I love the specs Do not drive faster than 88 km/h (55 mph) when towing a trailer. Yeah, right .... as if that is ever gunna happen in Australia ...... much like towing a trailer weighing 4.76 tonnes or getting the thing up a hill with a combined weight of 11.8 tonnes ..... actually, I reckon it could do it, but the 4.8 tonne tow weight would have to be on a dog trailer or a toad on an A frame and using a ring feeder coupling tied into the chassis

for your engine and rear axle ratio on the following chart:
Trailer Towing Table
GCWR (Gross Combined Weight Rating)/Trailer Weights
6.8L V10
5.38 rear axle ratio
Maximum GCWR-kg (lbs.) 11,794kg (26 000)
Trailer weight range-kg (lbs.) (0-Maximum) 0-4,763kg (0-10 000)

The trailer frontal area is a tad meaningless, behind the Winnie, it would be higher than most fuel stop awnings and wider than legal on Aust roads is the height or width exceeded the Winnie, it's a block of flats on wheels

I thought you were better built than that Dottie ;) Margaret is doing well, the dressing changes are ultra painful but that is at least a sign the blood flow is much better now, and the swelling in her foot, that she didn't realise she had, is going down and returning to a more normal colour apparently ..... I'm heading in to see her this afternoon with Coco for a visit now she is off the drip bags and just getting the shots 4 times a day through a canular ...... but they are having problems with those now as well

And I can see my feet ..... when I'm laying down or sitting with my feet up ..... both eyes have had the cataracts done now ..... smarty pants

Had one of those, two steps forward and 10 steps back day today. Finished the repositioning the mudguards and rewired the lights, had a trial fit of the MG4 on the trailer to see where the extensions for the front wheel hold downs will need to go
Loaded on the trailer 1.jpg
Loaded on the trailer 2.jpg
Loaded on the trailer3.jpg
Front doors just clear the guards, all good ..... until I tried to reverse back off ....... Then the Frank Spenser "Betty" moment struck

There is no drive in reverse when the drake is applied, the park brake can't be released without the foot brake applied, even with 40% load applied in reverse, eased off the brake ..... and it rolled forward and in now sitting on the sill rails and the plastic undertray on the trailer and won't apply enough drive in reverse to drag it back onto the trailer
Betty 1.jpg
Betty 2.jpg
I've tried jacking up the trailer and building up under the tyres with wood blocks, but with no actual weight on the front of the trailer, the sill rails are still sitting on the trailer. Tried unhooking the hitch off the Ford, folding the jockey wheel up and jacking the back of the trailer to force the front down ...... still sitting on the sill rails. Sun went down and it got too dark to find anywhere under the front that I can safely place a jack, it's all covered with plastic shields ...... so, the Ford to the rescue to take Margaret for her visits to Murray Bridge hospital for ultrasounds and what ever, so that will eat up most of the day .....
