My new camera arrived, no idea how to use it. They don’t come with ‘struction books these days apparently, it’s all printed on the screen. I need a ‘struction book to navigate the screen ‘structions.
I’m like a deer with no eyes.

Sigh, yes, I think that’s what I should do. I’d prefer some techo-super-whizz-person in real life to talk me through it though.
If anyone can just answer this for me please. For a start, should I just set it to ‘auto’ on the little dial with all the choices, and start snapping?
On a happy note, I did manage to make the camera and the iPad talk to each other via the Snapbridge app, so that’s something I guess. It means any pics I take automatically load to my iPad. You know, so I can then bore people shitless with my photos.
PS It’s A Nikon D3400, meant to be a good beginners camera

Hi Lance, I found a ‘dummies’ page and learnt how to get rid of the guff on the screen and see what I was pointing at on the screen rather than the viewfinder.
I also learned when you turn ‘the -wheel -of -too -many -choices’ it tells you on the screen what each of them are for. Landscape, portrait etc.
I think I’ll just try to learn one new thing at a time otherwise my tiny brain can’t cope. I’m better at mixing concrete than technical things.
Thank you for caring x

Practice
Master method works best of all, slower but once learnt it is rarely forgotten. Information over load happens at all ages but the older you get the more information that is already stored and becomes harder to retrieve. Putting that information in learned skills section saves the need to file it under a label that is easy to access when required. Just like walking and driving, once it becomes instinctive rather than needing to be a looked up again, the more relaxed the whole process becomes. So, take your time learning the new skills and it will become a relaxing past time rather than a frustrating experience you eventually end up avoiding ........ now to put that wonderful outpour of wisdom into practice myself

Thanks Terry. From what I have read on this forum your RAM must be full to the brim and you need 4 external harddrives!

What sort of camera do you have, I have a couple of DSLR camera's so may be able to help as they seem pretty close to having the same operating system and menu's as others have seen and used.

Hi Helen, good idea chatting in here
We don’t own the station, Jock’s cousin and his wife do. They run mainly Santa Gertrudis, Drought Master and Brahman.
Lots of lovely little calves around at the moment.
