Can I forward you some names and maybe a photo so you can construct a voodoo doll as well so I can push pins in spots that will get the best result  8-) It's not like these people serve a useful purpose in our society eh ;)

Actually think that they had control of our phone line the reason being to get log on phone details & password, evil bastards all right that's why we unplugged it.
Fortunately we have two phone lines & our internet connection just happened to be on the other line so I was able to check the accounts straight away.

Been out on the lake paddling the kayaks with the g'sons today feeling very tired this arvo :D

On the subject of phone scams...
Swmbo had a call a week ago from a mobile number which was identified as simply “Australia “. Didn’t get to the phone soon enough & no message left.
We figured if it was important they would call back.
They did, an hour later. Again could not get to the phone in time. No message.
Decided to call back. It might be someone we know, but don’t have their number.
Telstra recording: “The number you have called is not connected. Please check the number and call again.” ???? We called the number that called us. How can it NOT be connected?
Third call came next day & Swmbo happened to have the phone handy.
Caller asked to speak to a Mrs (mumbled name).
“No-one here of that name. You have a wrong number. “
“Well, while you are on the line, would you take part in our survey?”
“No. I’m not interested in your survey.” Click
Next day: same number, same script. Same response.
Day later: same number, same script. Swmbo lost her cool and stated with some considerable emphasis the suggestion that they NOT call again.
Since then, there has been Peace In The Valley. 😜

Just be very careful with these phone calls and saying "yes"

Never answer a question with yes.. Even if they ask you your name; are you sally? yes.

They record the "yes" and then use it to make a script where you're agreeing to a contract; and authorizing them to bill you/your credit card.

Just another part in the whole Identity Fraud schemes.

Always shred your details.

Jo got one of those "survey" calls today, they also asked if she would like to win a holiday? Jo told them "she was on holiday all year around travelling in their motorhome," then she hung up on the twatt.

Ray, You are fortunate that you don't live on the beautiful Gold Coast because the trade-off for the weather is the knobs from the call centres calling you two or three times a day. It doesn't seem to matter how rude you are to these people they just don't get it. So after a while you just learn to hang up on them as soon as you hear the voice.

Unplug landline.
Put handset in cupboard.

Great advice, then tell telstra to keep their phone lines. Just use a mobile and rarely have had any pest callers since cancelling mr telstra.

Jon our son warned us about saying yes & that scam.

We have been getting the "Telstra calling " to check your internet for the last few days, you know it's a hoax call as soon as they speak, these type of calls are an invasion of your privacy in today's day & age you would think that Telstra etc., would be able to stop the calls being made.

Happens with mobiles as well . I am continually getting calls from 2 numbers- one a 02 number and when answer no reply or telstra message saying not connected & the other is a 0428 with same result so I do nothing now when I see either of those numbers.
