Tonight's news reported 83 containers falling overboard from a ship off the Hunter Coast, apparently been huge rough seas too.
The water level is high in the lake the rough seas not allowing the water to run out.

Can you do the "scavenger" thing if stuff washes up on the beach??

Guess folk will if they have broken open but they are asking anyone who happens to sea one in the sea to report same.
Apparently some have been sighted off Fingal Bay Port Stephens further north, the problem is if they are water tight they float just below the surface becoming a real hazard.

Apparently most of the load is stuff like disposable nappies... or that's what they are trying to tell us. We have also been warned that the loads are not for scavenging, some rules apparently have to be followed. But hey, what "they" don't know wont hurt them.
Seems like the wharfies are all blaming the shipping companies for taking short cuts and not properly securing the load. Interesting times, as we are coming up the the anniversary of the grounding of the pash bulka in Newcastle. Seems like this is the time of year for high seas, violent winds and heavy rains, oh and it must be winter!!!
