Martin,

This is really interesting, it shows that you almost have enough solar to power the AC with out drawing down on the batteries.

what is your solar capacity?

I have 960w solar. After 3 hrs, the batteries were down to 61%, but its 24deg inside, better half was overheating...pretty happy with that, a few other items going as well. Half of the panels are around 20yrs old, so new panels will increase the output anyway. If I can get up to around 1200w , I reckon we will be pretty right.

I reckon that's about right. I'm planning on about 1300.

Brian can actually continue charging his batteries while the split system air con is running as well as the fridge and other bits... including the inverter as it runs 24/7. I think Gordon & Wendy (Bugman47) might be close to neutral running the roof top rattler

Well I bite the bullet and have ordered a new Harrier inverter Air Con..

Total price $2100 delivered to Wagin.

Gonna have to move some solar panels, can I add extension cabling if required.

Also can anyone direct me to a retail outlet in Perth for tracks etc

I hear a lot of talk about Wattage etc and still struggle to understand the finer points of solar power.

If I increase the number of panels do I need to increase my batteries???????
Cheers
