G got the compressor out and put the good old air in so will see how it is in the morn before heading to Carnarvon and the tyre place. Not too bad for the first of any tyre issues since we got the old girl on the road. Sunny and warm again today but not to hot as yesterday due to some cloud cover. Also ran over a little wriggly stick near a river, most likely the little bastard bit the tyre as I squashed it...   Now time for the great walkabout to check out all these posh clean vans

"tanks" here---I guess that I put the jinx on your tyre this morning when I was on the phone to you and I asked George if he had a torque wrench to change tyres. Sorry about that. Keith.

So it was you Tanks, It is the inside tyre so not gunna try to get that one off, shall put air in it tomorrow and get to the nice tyre man in Carnarvon to fix it up. Just had the best "finding the right spot" adventure for a caravan, she outdoors and he in his loud V8 JEEP this way then that way, around the trees then repeat the first steps NUP no good so do the whole thing but the other way around, NUP still not right, try another approach shall we? go back the way we came in and start all over again, still no good back to the forward, now back 8 ft but to the right and repeat. I am not kidding it has taken this lot over 20 minutes and still the blocks of wood are not in position. 2 wiz bangs have now zoomed in (one sounding very sick with a knocking noise) and as soon as the door opened a dog let out and promptly did a big poop . Maybe they should see how Brian behaves when out in the bush. He has had his photo taken 3 times today by people thinking it is unusual to see cats on a lead going for a walk? Mozzies are now starting to make their presence known so inside to stay now. Today we have seen the most traffic on the roads as in the whole trip so far?? Out of interest looking at the sat dishes near by to us who here has a Sphere or a Vansat?

"tanks" again Dot,
Have a look on ebay for this 10 tyre system.

http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Tyre-Pressur ... 43e124a0b8.

That will give you 6 sensors for the bus and 4 sensors for the toad car.
You can order additional sensors for the spare tyre.
With the cost of tyres, I think this is good insurance.

George had a look at the 8 tyre one I have ready to fit to the Iveco when you were at my place.
Keith.

Dot, are your wheels the split rim type? I had an inner tyre go flat and that allowed the retaining ring to come off the wheel and slam into the rear of the bus. Luckily there were no vehicles travelling behind.

George, How did that ring get off the axle??? Don't all the split rings face each other on the duals?

I'm guessing it must have been spinning around between the wheels till it finally jammed and broke. I was a passenger in the bus at the time and it was a big thump but we couldn't figure out what we had run over. gotta be mega careful when you keep driving with a flat inner tyre, the things fly to pieces and rip pieces on body work off like they are tissue paper, had them come right through the floor on tour buses, tends to upset the passengers a tad
Popped an inner with a drop deck trailer over size load just at the start of the old Cumberland Hwy Sydney, can't stop anywhere with an oversize load on that section of road. By the time I got to the truck stop at the Cross Roads Casula I had 2 bangles on one rim and a case very close to flying apart on the other.... and no spare tyres of course  A call to the road side tyre mob to bring 2 tyres and a big jack 8-)
Might be an idea to change that tyre Dottie, they get real interesting to get off the ground when they loose both tyres on one side.... and kinda interesting to drive as well

I was on a bus a long long time ago helping the driver change a tyre when this little old lady walked up the road and said" there is something of your bus sticking out of my car"
When we walked back the split rim was sticking out the middle of her radiator, one very lucky lady!.

NG yes they are.
Toolman he has one of those tools in his secret compartment he thinks I know nothing about ;)
Terry, we put 30 lb of air in the tyre and it is holding ok for now, will put as much as we can in again in the morning and keep checking it every half hr or so till we get to the tyre place. I don't want to put all the men around here to shame by a little grey haired, hairylegged, fat, old lady changing the tyre.
Our car is right behind the bus so if anything flies off I guess our car will cop it.
George is playing with my pussies tail :o :o
