What !!!!! you went to school??
Yesterday at the appointed time we turned up at the tyre place but the one that was to do the job had a bit of an accident to back here at 9am and I am at a lose end while he is doing his thing with the tyres?? G has gone to get a few bits and pieces i.e a fuse of some kind plus a hot chick (for Bob) After we get these tyres sorted we are going for a day out at the beach with Bob n Bev and happy Jackie. Stayed last night at a friends rellies place (banana plantation), so much more relaxing not to hear every word or bodily function of your neighbour. Depending on the time we get back this arvo and G gets the ?? fuse thing done we might head out the road finally on our way to Mt Augustus. Lots and lots of caravans and M/H around the place. OK man finished all done, no leaks it was the valve so he replaced them all with plastic ones ? and said the pressures should be 100psi compared to what we were told of 80 Oh well C U x

Right Oh, well G went off to find a resettable fuse for between the battery & battery charger and he went to every auto parts place and auto sparky and not one of them had one, even the people at auto pro had no idea what he was asking for

but they could order one in

Now as it happened the people we went to see out at a place called Quobba had exactly what we needed

yeah good ol Bob to the rescue. Before we had the bus booked into Beaurepairs we went to Tyre Power and they said they could not do our tyres due to the fact their air machine thingy would not pump up over 70psi

So a town this size with the only ones making a killing is the caravan parks because if you need such a part as we did they have to order them in and woo hoo there is another few days income for the van parks. We had a very nice visit and lunch with Bob n Bev and Miss Jackie and sat out in the sun for a while before we headed back to the bus and G fitted the new thingy and we have filled up with water
, fuel, food and now he tells me we might need more toilet rolls so back to the shops before we head off in the morning.

Just so happens I've got some of those re-settable fuses coming from China. They should be here in a day or 2 I think.
I need mine for the same reason G does.
Every time I leave the battery charger connected to the battery, but turned off, it blows the fuse through the day.
I'm starting to think the high voltage from the solar is 'back feeding' and blowing the fuse.
As long as I disconnect the charger when not in use everything is OK.
I'm going to put one of these fuses in the charger and another in the positive lead to the battery.
Instead of disconnecting it I'll just flick the resettable fuse to off.
T1 might know but I'm suspecting the fuse is blowing to protect the capacitor from cooking?
Even when the charger is off I see a little spark when connecting it. (as it charges up the cap?)
Erich is/was having similar problems I believe?

Yes, I had two chargers blown by the high solar voltage, I suspect. Currently I manage by connecting/disconnecting the relevant cables (Anderson plugs) so that I never have solar going the wrong way into the charger.
Eventually once settled again, I will go with Terry's suggested solution. I don't think I can organise that while on the road.

Gascoyne Junction002 camp spot.jpg
Gascoyne Junction.jpg
to begin with what a good page #.
Day 25 . Left Carnarvon after lunch today and finally got onto the road to Mt Augustus woo hoo at last
Very good bitumen road all the way to Gascoyne Junction 176ks today and not much traffic at all on it. Plenty of cows laying around the many water holes chewing their cud (learned term)

Decided to try the cp here as no water avail anywhere else. Place appeared ok clean and nicely set out even with grass. G had to go looking for someone anyone to see about a spot but 15 mins later he gets back to say NO room at this inn till Monday as races are on, he suggested we drive on towards the Kennedy ranges

bet he knew about this spot but being the $$ grubbers these mobs are no way was he going to let on about such a great spot. . We went to the Info centre and a very nice lady told G about a free spot right on the river so off he headed in the car and a few minutes later came back and said "great spot follow me" so being the ever obedient wife I followed around a few corners and into a great spot right next to the river and best of all no one else in here

Went for a walk on the very sandy river bed and also a little paddle to ease my aching feet and back to the bus to take Brian for a walk and now thinking of starting tea. Heading off in the car tomorrow to have a gander at the Kennedy ranges maybe 2 days then off to Mt A on the dirt but good road. There are heaps of budgies around here, trying to get g to smuggle a few back

. Saw a huge wedge tailed eagle yesterday he was just sitting on a branch waiting for his next road kill to be delivered. Looks like a bit of moisture may visit tonight?

What a place to see. The camping space is very small and the only ones that would get in there with ease would be the wiz bangers or tents. We just did 2 of the easy walks but you could be here for a week or more to really get to see the beauty of this place. The road was wide and a few corrugations but we zoomed along at 80kph with no worries. The camera is not doing these pics justice at all but I am not a SteveW for sure but you get the idea. It was a great day out and now back in the bus where Brian has been a naughty boy being the terrorist again against Missy Meow. Sunny and warm with a gentle breeze blowing across the river

Aarrrrrrh The top pic of Honeycomb gorge has the "staining" of the water fall flows over and the walls are covered with the honeycomb appearance as in pic #2 Forgot to tell you that fuel here in Gascoyne Junction is 165cpl for unleaded & 159 Cpl for Diesel and can also get water at the fuel stop. Fuel out at Mt Augustus is much dearer than here so we have been told. Heading that way tomorrow

Fuelled up, watered up, tyres checked, oils and waters in vehicles checked and Gman topped up so looks like we are ready to hit the dirt. Reports from other travellers say the road conditions are all good so off we go.
