This is what you see driving along around the big rock, they are burrowing bees and they are huge but don't bite. Only one pr hole and the pic of the bee poking it's head out had just seen an intruder off. Click on to see it a bit better but they are so fast moving hard to catch em (not like those budgies)
David how could I leave the likes of you behind?

Had a great day today here in sunny warm Carnarvon. One thing we did get very loud and clear was the locals do not like the free campers. Was speaking to the girl in the info centre about this issue and she said they tried letting people camping at Rocky Pool 50ks towards Gascoyne Junction but after some wise camper decided to chuck their rubbish into the water the dept that used Rocky pool for the measurement of water quality said that was the last straw and so it was closed. :( The other issue was some "illegal overnight campers" were camping in cul-de-sac's near the beach and were using the dog beach as their toilet. The dogs doo doo was picked up by the dog owners but the super smart humans just left theirs where it was dropped. Had a great feed of fresh snapper and chips on the beach front num num  Still see some damage to houses after the cyclone they had here in march but repairs can only be done when they have the appropriate builders to do the work. Brian also had a couple of new experiences today, our hosts have a few chooks that roam the yard during the day and also some rabbits that come out to play in the evening so Brian was totally confused as to what these strange things were. Tomorrow is the collect the mail day (bills I expect) plus a meeting up with BnBnJ a bit more sight seeing then Tues we are off to parts unknown.
Martin, we did hit the 80kph mark on a very few occasions but mostly the speeds were around the 60kph due to the frequency of the flood ways, grids, and dips and due to the colours of the dirt some snuck up so we found it easier to do the lesser speed and be able to cope with the ups & downs.
David I loathe housework of any and all descriptions so you shall have to do your own cleaning.
We couldn't understand why the inside of the car got so rotten because we closed all the vents, even gaffer taped over them as well and the vents were also on recycle so what did we do wrong or is it the norm or maybe the cars seals are crap???

Met BnBnJ in town today for a cuppa and a chat before they headed to a different place somewhere down the track. Always glad to catch up with people you know when so far from home. We then got our mail (bills) paid them all then headed for another look around the town, even an op shop here but nothing interesting, also nearly claimed 100 points but just missed by that much :) Going to mozey along tomorrow after I have my eyes checked in the morning, L) eye is rather foggy so to speak ? cataract must have grown very fast. Lots of red dust covered vehicles parked around the shopping centre and also some very very sparkling ones as well.

Had eye tested today and as thought cataract but can wait till we get home. Have been lined aup at the BP trying to get to the pump, a bloody wide load is under where he shouldn't be and he is stuck     Anyway had a wonderful few days with one of our forum members rellies but now we must leave the lovely people and their super dog Chilli and the 3 chooks and head off somewhere without people for a while.. Had an interesting talk with the optometrist re the council here but might get sued if repeated here (for now) ;) Finally getting fuel the truck did a tad damage to the veranda  fuel here at BP just as entering Carnarvon is 114.9 cpl. Might not get any internet for a while so behave all you lot, safe travels.x

Got 85ks Sth of Carnarvon and decided to stop in the Edaggee ? rest area (stayed here last year with the windy one and wife  No internet or ph until now so make use while we have it.. Having too good of a time watching the caravans doing their ritual of the levelling dance and one or tow arguments the have broken out during the process.  Brian had been eyeing off the little lizards that come to look at him on the bottom step of the bus.. Have tried to put a couple of pics up but it keeps coming back saying "this page can not be displayed" so might be the fluke of getting online so won't push it. Beautiful warm weather still reckon we might mozey along down the road a few more ks tomorrow so if no coverage safe travels to you all Catch yus xx Bob the nose is slowly improving but as you said that dust sets like concrete so I had to get the jack hammer out to break it up.

That's cheaper than it is here on the Gold Coast Dot, makes you wonder how they justify that doesn't it.
Cheers
