" tanks" here---
Testerday was the Hinterland Community Centre Christmas Party for us 'old farts' held at the Stay-Over Coalmine Workers Camp.
Well, what a wonderful and generous spread was presented for the lunch. Turkey breast, sliced Ham on the bone, Chicken breast, a mile of various salads and coleslaws, roast vegetables, about5 various deserts and free range on the soft serve ice cream machines.
The day commenced at 10:00am with various sedentary, non-challenging games and raffles and door prizes. Everybody received at least one prize, and many of the 45 guests received several xmas packets.
When the activity and the lunch was all over and the guests were departing, we were given a presentation bag made with a soft calico material, filled with more xmas presents; golf balls, 16gb usb drives, good quality notebooks and pencils, a BMA Saraji Minesite embossed coffee mug, a large Lions Xmas Cake, my bag contained an Onion/Salad Chopper kitchen appliance, (others received 2 slice electric toasters, or electric jugs), all of us received 2 kg Ham on the bone and a Ham bag, My presentation bag even had a large packet of 28 Dentastix for Mr. Major, so the organisers thought of, and covered everything to give us 'old farts' a very Merry Xmas. I'm now waiting for Xmas 2020. Have a good time everyone.
Keith

Re: Good morning daily
I'm now 87 years old, having experienced another birthday, and I'm still living in WA, single (gave up looking), white hair, no teeth, no money, no worries.
I plan to have another birthday next year.

WoW!!! What a nice gesture Keith!!
I know some people run the mining companies down but they do look after the 'staff' unlike some companies.
You won't have to cook for a week ..... only for Major!!

Good morning to you all. Once again we got 3ml rain. Got home from massage to find Bruce picking up bits of glass from patio. No rain but I could feel the wind rocking the car (apparently Redcliffe got 170k/hour winds, 10k away). Bruce never knew this was happening and all patio windows open on southern side where wind was coming . Blew globe off an old lamp, wet back of old van TV we use on patio etc etc. He was in his man shed fiddling on opposite side of house!

Re: Good morning daily
Good morning Bob and Bernie. No bacon etc here this morning as forgot to buy any! heading up to Toogum for 3 nights to sons who has a house there for a week. Collection 17 year old granddaughter & her friend on the way at Caboolture to take up. Know they will have their headphones in ears so we got a talking up out at the library yesterday. Memory getting bad- after getting back from library about 2.30 asked Bruce to put the jug on for a cuppa. Why? was his answer. You are going out in 15min for afternoon tea. I had forgotten about up to neighbours 3 houses away for Christmas drinks/cuppa etc. Just as well some scones in the freezer to take up, the rest going with up to Toogum. We really have not felt the heat as long as the sea breeze keeps blowing. this week we had 4, 2 & 2 ml.
