Yes I bet they have! Then again they look like bonded linings rather than riveted so they might be more modern than original ones.
If they are identical shoes you could get them lined ready for the next changeover in 20 years time!!!

The cracked and broken linings says who ever put them on last didn't have a clue how to do it correctly, they had left gaps under the lining and that is what causes the linings to crack and break.

how do you get rid of the gaps?
By starting rivets at the centre and working outwards?? (just guessing) or is there a better way?

A flat file over the shoe to get rid of any high spots, a bash with the hammer to knock the rivet holes back down, put the linings on the correct way around and work from the centre end of each lining piece toward the end of the shoe. In the case of these linings they are one piece so the same test to make sure there are no high spots, fit all the rivets and masking tape over them to keep them in the holes, then from the centre out punch each one fully working each way evenly to the ends of the limimg. If the shoe is bent that bad the lining won't fit on it properly when you first try to put all the rivets in, stop and get another shoe, that one is stuffed.

Another update , these pics are from the "new" axle assembly when I put the wheel on (passenger side) I thought I felt/heard a slight noise so today I investigated further . When the cap came off here was rust to be seen , and when I removed the outer bearing you could also see that rust had formed . I had to use a puller to remove the drum . the pics are the two bearing outer cones . I have replaced both bearings , the linings are bonded and in good nick the drum is also better condition then my old ones . Drivers side to be done at a later date .

Common when a vehicle has had arc welding done but the earth lead was too far away from the welding face. Gearbox brgs, wheel brgs and diff brgs all get destroyed, had a brain dead mechanic do that to a bus at the yard I worked at in Tassie, you should of heard the noise coming from this thing as it cruised up the highway back to the yard

Always put the earth on the work.... then there is no stray currents flowing around the body.
