Sitting in a waterfront car park at Brighton watching the waves lapping the foreshore pushed up by 40Km winds. Cannot see across the bay because of rain. Looks like an enjoyable trip across to Tassie.
At least it's a decent size boat now days. I went across & back on the old Princess of Tasmania in around 1970 or so.............. I believe even the crew & Captain were seasick going over. Was coming in from the front quarter & was pitching as it was rolling............
PS. have a good trip!!

After getting onto the wharf at Melbourne at 1700 hours I was loaded on board at 1955 hours.
BUT I was 2nd vehicle off in Devonport Tas. Drove to Port Sorell then Exeter [good VIC] was told of free camping at Gravelly Beach boat launching ramp parking is tar but no amenities and self contained only.
Good view of Batman Bridge from an old church at Sidmouth. Lunch in the Exchange hotel in Beaconsfield and got a NP pass from the council [$60 for 8 weeks]. Went to Seahorse World and Platypus House and Tasmanian Echidna Garden, see both feeding, the echidnas were running around our feet. Was going to the mine but run out o time. So now camped at, Beaconsfield free camp, at the football ground, Toilets and dump point [Big Rigs room]. Went into the NP and spiked a tyre [new].
Thought to myself as I was reading your post "Arh Ha Peter is having a good run" then got to the last sentence about the tyre . Was the crossing a calm one?
Queen of the Banal & OT chatter and proud of it. If it offends you then tough titty titty bang bang.
After spending another morning in Beaconsfield to see the Mine & Museum [remember the trapped miners] I moved to George Town lunch in the historic Pier Hotel visit the Bass & Flinders museum which holds the Norfolk [built for the re-enactment of Flinders voyages]. Then out to the Pilot House [another museum]. Was going to see the Penguins but when I saw how far it was to walk gave it away so went to Gravelly Beach [free camp] and had happy hour with two other MH’s.
