Big worldwide trip "bon voyage!)

Drop in and dribble on about nothing serious. Seriously a mad place to hang out. Better to avoid it if you're not in the mood!!! If you're determined to be sad, bad, mad & angry then move along!!!

Eze France October 12

The clock tower seen on the way in.

Eze is a photographers paradise with subjects of interest everywhere.

Great views, but I wonder what it's like in the winter? Will mention that later.

Eze France October 12

We had our work cut out for us as there are no lifts or escalators!
_DSF1880.JPG
In fact, the paths are so narrow in spots and access so limited, that goods are delivered by a big motorised tractor tread cart about the size of a medium fridge, with the operator walking behind at the handle bar controls. Sorry, no photo.

Watch your heads - ouch if you miss judge.

Eze October 12

There are arches, narrow lanes and twist and turns everywhere.

_DSF1943.JPG
I wonder what it would be like negotiating these paths with the rain rushing down the steep sometimes un-stepped paths?

Eze October 12

It's a quaint little village that has obviously seen the benefit of the tourist traffic by offering up boutique restaurants,

... shops and

...souvenir trinkets.

Eze October 12

I had to laugh at the height of ambition seen in the Cafe Roule scooter adorned with a truck horn!

I thought Nietche was German? Isn't he the atheist who on his death bed exclaimed, “Oh God, if there is a God, save my soul, if I have a soul” ?
_DSF1989.JPG
Question; How do you get rid of a sticker stuck to your finger? Easy in Eze – just stick it somewhere else. lol

And this is where we detach ourselves for our next destination. :)

Nice October 12

From Eze France we continued by coach to Nice.

Note the combination footpath cycleway on the scenic route.

There is the seashore...
_DSF2019.JPG
...and here is the beach. Anyone got a bucket for a rock pebble castle? Lol

Nice October 12

I think the sign says, “beware of bikes” and if so, it is for good reason as they whiz silently by at a cracking pace – especially down hill.

Electric bike rentals are popular in Europe...
_DSF2068.JPG
...and strangely, Hogs are too, however the large tractor still seems out of place even in a congested European country town.

Produce, surprisingly including olives, is big time in Europe...
_DSF2024.JPG
...and especially France where we found fruiting olive trees in pots lining the esplanade.

Here is where Maree got really excited – candied fruit shoppe.

Nice October 12

We found Nice to be a tidy town with modern transport and some weird light post fittings.
_DSF2075.JPG
The fountain was nice (pun)...
_DSF2078.JPG
...and a brand new opera house.

Nice October 12

This guy should have stopped back at this restaurant and had a minty...
_DSF2022.JPG
...instead of being choked up in a traffic bottle neck like our bus. The peak hour not only trapped us, but an ambulance behind us with it's siren going the whole time.
_DSF2080.JPG
On the way out was this huge kiddy park with a massive wooden whale among other things for the little frogs to hop on and off.
_DSF2086.JPG
Avior Nice.
