Off back to Kingston today.
Pick up some essential parcels, pay some bills, wash some clothes, water some plants/lawns etc etc.
Should be back for the long weekend I suspect. (8,9,10th of March in SA) (Adelaide Cup day)

Still a bit to do & days running out.
Getting excited though to be heading off on such a trip.
Anyone going to be at Walker Flat over Easter know a LOT about 12V electrics?
(gauges, key, earths, dead shorts or bad earth leakages?)
When I turn on the instrument lights (night time) all the gauges drop down.
temp, fuel & oil in particular!
You getter organised or do we cancel everything & reschedule for October? :P ;)

you need to run 2 seperate cables from the Bat positive to the instrument and the lights. you can also buy a voltage sabiliser to fit in the dash panel to hold the voltage at a steady 12v for the instruments no matter what voltage is on the supply. Also, double check the leads and connections between Bat neg and the engine block and that the neg cable is large enough to supply all the lights without the voltage dropping excessively.

We will be there before easter, we might still be finishing a few jobs while there though

Bruce,

Have you figured out where you're able to get the boat & the technical assistance at the same location?

Chuck I hope so!
None of us really know just what the areas along the River will be like over Easter. It can & does change depending greatly on the weather.
I see the same at Kingston. A few warm days & the place is like a bee-hive. A bit of wind & rain & everyone heads inland.
Unfortunately I can't park the boat at the hall. ;) ;)
I've been busy as ......... trying to minimise exactly how much will need to be done to finish things off.

I'd think an hour or so & then the testing & watching will start. I'd suggest I won't be leaving during that time just in case!!!
Been thinking if I should take my MH up there & hitch hike back for the boat & then hitch hike back for the car ............ then I decided I should walk ...........
:o 8-)

We could have a 4 x 4 challenge to see who can drag the boat up to the hall, wasn't this one on a trailer in the previous owners back yard at one stage? Or was that one of the many other vessels you looked at Bruce
