Nightly Goodnight Everyone

Drop in and dribble on about nothing serious. Seriously a mad place to hang out. Better to avoid it if you're not in the mood!!! If you're determined to be sad, bad, mad & angry then move along!!!

Dot, hope you are still celebrating somewhere nice xxxx

We have enjoyed our day in the sun and had an excellent day. Our daughter did the zoom thing with us all, just as we sat together at a table. So we had the family "together" for long enough to enjoy their company and short enough time for them to not have an argument . We both have enjoyed our day immensely.

take care on the roads, the other drivers are crazy.

Dottie,
Re the pastry baking thing:
What SWMBO does is called ‘blind baking’ the pastry.
We have a special jar of rice which we re-use for just that.
After baking the pastry, she removes the rice and returns the pastry shell to the oven (still in the pan) for another three minutes, or until the base looks light brown.
Once the rice is cool it goes back into the jar ready for next time.
Regards & God bless,
Ray

Hope you are somewhere warmer than we are Dot xxxx

The sun disappeared today and in return we have almost cyclonic winds with icy backlash and some very short showers just to be a nuisance.
Not a lot happened here with those conditions. Instead of having a family meal under a tarp, we went out to a local pub for a nice Chinese dinner. It was lovely to be able to sit with the family and be warm for a while.

Tomorrow we will head South for a few hours and then all the unpacking will start.

safe travels out there

Back into the world of idiots and filthy , lazy selfish morons. We left Narrung an hr after Terry & Margaret left as the wind was whipping up more and some noisy campers settled in not too far away. Got to the Tailem bend Sth rest stop last night and as pr usual there was about 2 dozen sausage rolls, & pies in their wrappers with expiry date of August 2022 and about 6 packets of Lasagna just dumped on the ground. As we do we aka George bagged them up and put them into the rubbish bin. Headed for home but decided to stay another night out and about so stopped between Tailem B and Murray Bridge for tonight where we came across the same same ol over flowing bins. Ambulance went hooping it by heading to MB so I guess someone has come to grief. Was nice to have some time away, rang people in NZ and in Victoria for Xmas wish we could have a gathering again.Hope you all had a nice Xmas and hoping for a happy and healthy new year Goodnight everyone x :D Goodnight Deborah x :D

We got home this morning and straight away the fridge, freezer contents ,dirty clothes and linen were taken inside and the washing was started. Before we left our overnight stop 5 cars came in together and a man from one of the cars came over and asked if we had jumper leads he could borrow as his car's battery was playing up. Silly man tried to start his car using the leads between his car and his mates Audi,(diesel) had to sort of giggle as the Audi battery is well hidden under those plastic covers that cover the whole engine compartment and they are a real work of knowledgeable art to get into the motor. Anyway he soon came back and said he would have to ring his roadside assist. After an hr the mechanic turned up but he had to scratch his head and make a ph call to ?? and so another 30 mins the bonnet was down and the motor going so that was that for excitement, All the garden has been watered, pot plants done, all bird baths here and there have been cleaned and refilled. Tomorrow George's wardrobe is getting the enema treatment, so much stuff, worse than mine  Gunna be a rather warm day tomorrow 33 they say. Shirley Brian was not keen on being put up the tree, maybe he is scared of heights   Goodnight everyone x Goodnight Tanks and Mr Major xx :D :D Careful on the roads and stay away from people.

Looks like you had a good escape. Brian couldn't get too far up the tree with his lead still attached, but he still looked like he was into the activity. I can't understand the wastage of good food. If you don't want to eat it, find someone who really needs to eat anything, instead of making our rest stops into food dumps. Good thing you and the Gman came along to tidy it up. xxxx

We had a a non eventful trip home. Even the huge lines of traffic that we usually come to at Hexham Bridge, were not there. It was a clear run all the way with a bit of misty rain here and there. Tonight the heavens have opened up on us and it's rather damp outside. Good to be home, sort of. The van is unpacked and stashed back down the back yard. Tomorrow I will try to find homes for all the stuff that we brought home.

The garden looks like it has overgrown, just in a week. His Nibs tells me that we have had over an inch of rain during that time, so no wonder the place is looking so lush.

I reckon someone's fridge died and all their holiday food was defrosted. No excuse for not putting it in a bin, but I'm guessing that is why they didn't offer it to someone else .... they weren't game to eat it themselves ......

No photo with us there Dottie? We never remember to take photos so no point in expecting we have some to posts

Rather tired today after my manic clean up of yesterday. Potted a few plants that I had been waiting for them to develop some roots. The potting mix lately is just crap, not the cheap stuff either, it seems to dry out much quicker than years back and I feed the pleats roughly every 1-2 months. Easy come easy go so they say. Still trying to find the best place to plant the newest Crepe Myrtles  Thinking of going somewhere out bush for NYE noise from the nutters to me is a PITA. Watching the boxing day Tsunami 2004, I had no idea some of it reached Oz , that was unbelievable. I am off for a shower then to bed e buys so Goodnight everyone x :D Goodnight Toolman x :D . Stay safe both on and off the roads,

As long as you don't plant the crap myrtles in the bush Dot, they will be ok. As they can be kept cut low or allowed to roam free, the choice of position can be interesting. They are also one of the slowest growing plants in our gardens. I do like them along a fenceline, if there is a view that I want hiding. Hope that gives you some inspiration mate xxxx

I ended up having an extra long sleep in and had no energy left for much else. I managed a few hours in the garden just trimming the dahlias and trying to get on top of some of the weeds. It's amazing how they have taken over in just a week. I have filled the big sulo bin totally with weeds. Bad luck if His Nibs gets in a trimming trees mood.
