Just saw on the news that the Victorian government are going to increase the cost of drivers licences.
The reason given was that due to the downturn in housing sales stamp duty they need to raise it from somewhere,

yer why not slug the bloody motorist .............AGAIN.

The bad news.
A 3 year licence will go from $50 to $70.
A 10 year licence willgo from $170 to 240.




The good news.

Mel and I both renewed ours for 10 years in September.

Mels was due in Sept. mine in Oct. so we paid both at the same time.

That's 3 elections away, and pollies in rarely get elected three times in a row.

Just renewed mine, I see they have given me a 25% discount for having a 'clean' licence for three years. Effectively they are fining people again, on top of the heavy price for a speeding ticket.
