Just came across this....
http://groupbuy.ebay.com.au/deal?itemId=231296164692
I know it's cheap no-brand but is it worth the risk?
I'd say 5 would be max... more like 2 or 2.5 continuous.

Bruce, the issue with these cheapies is reliability, and when I am away camping miles from anywhere reliability is a BIG issue to me. I'll stick with the other red one ;)

Might be good for people at home for blackouts though

Bruce,

steer well clear.

ere it is! The Tomahawk Sinewave 5KVA Petrol Generator! With remote start, 150cc motor and maximum output of 5KVA all for the amazing price of $598

150cc is about 4.5hp. 4.5hp x 760 watt x 60% efficiency gives you about 2kw.

To get 5kva, you need a 13hp motor....

I just thought it sounded like a good buy if you did need one?
I'm waiting for Martin (Dapope) to send over his diesel one for me to fix..........
no... if I get another one it will be a marinised diesel one for below decks/waterline.........

Bite your tongue  a generator  why it was just today that Geoff aka Boblebago said he did his washing without the need for a Genny because of those super batteries, so why do you need one with all your power?? BTW I also use my washing machine without using our big red thing ;)

Hi, all.

WILBOR - wouldn't a 5kva genny put you near your weight limit?

If they were Australian KVA's it might! I think I will stick to my 3kva Honda even though it is a tad heavy :) It does run for 18 hours though!
