Re: Rapid Growth ?

Post by native pepper »

My post only reflects the economic, social, scientific, ecological, environmental and anthropological reality. It's just putting forward another view point which is backed by a lot of science. Many scientists are claiming we have it wrong on global warming and what was predicted to happen at the end of this century, is beginning to happen now. When you add ecological collapse, as reported in the last few days, there is more plastic by weight than fish in the seas and we are taking millions of tonnes a day of fish from the seas and it is increasing, so does not bode well for a realistic future.

Of course medical science has made great advances, but obesity, cancer, diabetes, heart, vascular and some organs diseases only seen on the elderly in the past, are rapidly rising among the young. When you add the chemically saturated diet of the young today, you can see where it is going. Then we have the glaring breakdown of our medical services under the weight of medical need, so in reality there is no improvement, just the opposite. If we look at the facts compared to the propaganda, lies and spin the deluded feed us, we soon see the truth.

Economically we have passed the top of the pinnacle and are spiraling down, this is verified by never ending rising of prices, goods being less reliable and lasting very short term and the glaring fact most developed countries now import more than 80% of their foods, consumer items and fuels from 2nd and 3rd world countries. Now those countries are becoming involved conflict, socail, environmental collapse, and shoddy manufacturing, in their desperation to increase profit growth.

From an anthropological aspect, the history of the ideological human race has seen the growth of many empires which have collapsed very quickly and disappear within a few short years. The most obvious aspect is over time, these empires have lasted shorter and shorter times. They used to last thousands of years, then hundreds, then in the last century, decades and now we are seeing the end of the human ideological era.

Our capitalistic (religious elitism) societies reached it's zenith at the end of the 20th century and is in free fall to the bottom, the only thing keeping it up is the blind denial of the majority of humanity of the looming reality.

To someone one like me, it's a very interesting time, we have the technology to make us safe. But we refuse to accept we have stuffed our tiny planet big time and just continue on as if nothing is going wrong. Of course we could turn this around quite quickly if we used our technology in a beneficial way for the future, instead of just junking everything so it can be sold to increase profit growth for just a few. We have no fuel reserves, we can't even buy our own natural gas because there is more profit sending it overseas and we make less than 2% of consumer goods. There is nothing being done about changing, or innovating for the future. It's all devoted to keeping on going down the same path of profit growth for a few and nothing for the future.

Just two commodities prove what I say, lithium and graphene. Aus has some of the biggest and best reserves of both of these, but the technology and resources are all going overseas and we are missing out completely. Everything we do with infrastructure and transport is designed around 19th century mindsets, not 21st century needs.

All you have to do to see the real situation we face for the near future, is simply add up all the verifiable ecological sociological, anthropological, scientific and economic facts to see where we are headed. Sadly denial of reality, both personal and global is the driving force of humanity presently and anyone with a logical sane brain, can see where it is leading to.
