The Big Dig

Anyone travelling with kids this Easter, 'The Big Dig' is on at Gemtree on Easter Sunday. The kids dig for cardboard eggs in the creek and 'cash them in' for chocolate eggs. One lucky winner receives a gemstone egg. A fun day and we get a lot of spectators, so if you find yourself in the Red Centre at Easter, we'd love to see you.

The kids look as though they ae having as much fun as the adults watching them  looks like a fun time for all involved, an Easter egg hunt where the dog didn't beat the kids to the eggs, gotta be a winner 8-)

Hi, John - Gemtree is 140km NE of Alice Springs - truly a Red Centre adventure! ;) So yes, we are miles from anywhere, but definitely worth calling in if your itinerary brings you this way. We have different events throughout the year, but I just wanted to post about Easter for the moment. The website will give you a bit more information if you are interested.

LOL a thunder egg is a geode - they look brown and ordinary on the outside and have beautiful crystals on the inside. No thunder eggs found locally in this area, unfortunately.
