Easter Gathering YEAR 2020
"tanks" here---
Greetings all Forum Members. We should think about our EASTER Get-together for Year 2020.
The Dysart Bunker is too far away for most of you until Winter time.
How about this year instead of picking a place handy for some but miles away for others, consider selecting several locations where the fires have caused so much distress, and give that town much needed support.
Say, a few locations in NSW, a few places in Vic, and a few towns in S.A. to spread our strength.
I am sure that BLAZE AID would make you welcome even for a few days over the Easter 4 day period (Friday 10th to MONDAY 13th APRIL)
If you are too old and feeble to string wire and mend fences, then make sandwiches for the crews that are doing the hard work, or issue out the tools, or something to help fix things for our distressed farmers and townspeople.
Blaze-Aid must have phone listings for each State, somewhere on the web. It won't take a lot to contact them and offer your time.
Keith.

Hi Keith,
I just attended a week at a Blazeaid camp and suggest it's not for people to just catch up.
Breakfast is at 6am including making your lunch; Muster at 7am. Join a team. On the road at 8am - working till lunch then till about 3-30pm. You return to camp, unpack the trailer. Shower and rest. Dinner at 6pm. Bed at about 8-30pm.
It's a good days work.
regards jd

Ah but enjoyable and satisfying at the same time. Nothing like knowing you have helped someone direct that not only needs help but appreciates
that help and your presence

My suggestion was to help the Blaze Aid function, rather than a get-together as previous Easter gatherings.
That is why I suggested having different States, mainly to cut down on travel to one location in one State.
Some members could go to a BlazeAid group in NSW, some go to a group in Victoria, some to South Australia, etc and ALL spend a few dollars in whatever town is near. Buy a hot pie or a ham and pickle sandwich, or go to the OP Shop. Have a comforting chat with the locals.

Keith, happy hour is compulsory in all the Blazeaid camps that we have been in. It starts straight after you get out of the shower and continues until the dinner bell.

Tanks & all,
I reckon you’ve hit on a great idea, Tanks!
If I were fit enough, I’d be in like Flynn.
Go for it, everyone. Contact Blazeaid in your state & volunteer for a couple of days/weeks/months.
Me & SWMBO were looking at this prior to my accident.

Hi. If you have trouble finding somewhere to do some voluntarily work we have a camp area and seven and a half pallets of pavers to lay. Happy hour runs from 2pm until you drop. Cheers john and faye
