Went to RACQ yesterday to pay membership (54 years) as well as sort out house contents insurance while renting .
1. Do not do Landlord's Insurance
2. Will only cover shipping container if under cover. Told them it was guaranteed vermin.weather proof, would be raised off the ground but not under cover ( could put under tarp.
3 We want to totally fill shed beside house with garden stuff & camping gear. Explained how securely it will be locked while house being rented- sorry no can do
4 . She rang the underwriter at head office but still no satisfaction.
5. I got home & emailed the above person which Beth at Redcliffe suggested we do.
Said that all premiums paid over 54 years would more than cover the premium for the shed :!: Also mentioned that car/van are coming up for renewal 4th Feb & maybe we will go else where & will not be renewing house & contents when we move back to home.
Trouble is we do not want to loose the Ultimate RACQ cover.
Bloody stinks.
Now I guess we will have to start looking around for another insurer or go back to storage shed (RACQ will cover that as well as the container in a building).
Still have to find someone to get Land Lord's cover.
 :x :?

When I was on the road and still owned a house I used ANZ Bank Landlord's Insurance.

Kay, the very best Landlord Insurance is through Terri Scheer https://terrischeer.com.au/ I worked the last 5 years before retirement in Real Estate and they were the only company we would recommend. I'm surprised your Property Manager hasn't told you about them.
