Re: Painting problem
Both sides finished (just the bottom) despite the continual rain and showers.

Looking very good George, but I think you missed a bit .Are you going to paint the top half or just touching up the bottom bit?

Re: Painting problem
Great finish George, well done. Did you end up using the Poly U 400 two pack? Did you apply it with a brush or roller .... and what type?

Re: Painting problem
Terry, I used 2 coats of Wattyl Killrust Epoxy Gloss Enamel with microfibre 4mm knap roller. I am surprised at the finish as I have to look very closely to tell it was applied with roller.
Here is a closeup, quite difficult to get a photo. George

Re: Painting problem
It flowed out well, great result. Using the water based coat under the top coat stopped the top coat reacting with anything below it because the two "thinners" used are completely different.
I'm looking into using a 2 pk water based finish to re-coat the Hino after all the repair Margaret and Brian have made to the leaking rear window area. If I can get a reasonable result, I might take on the Kombi restoration later on .... and maybe pretty up the Mazda and decide what the next step with it should be

Re: Painting problem
At the moment, just trying to fix the river pump is a task to difficult to tackle in the same week, even thinking about a work schedule to get the Big Bus project back up and running would have me back in bed for the day
I can almost see out of both eyes now, eye specialist tomorrow afternoon and find out if the eye escaped damage and then a slow and steady return to work are the plans for this week ..... Let's see where it goes from there.
I would need the practice painting the other projects before I even thought about taking on painting Big Bus anyway

Re: Painting problem
So you think you will still be climbing ladders etc at 85 years old to get your first lot done before having a rest for big bus.
