Dave, there is no water at Ariah Park. Nice spot though. Terry, I had to Google Split Rock. You have the latitude about right.

Around the Tamworth - Gunnedah area? There are so many great spot similar to that all around that area, right out past coonabarrabran and in the Warrumbungles around Split Rock

Can't be Bingra as that's a bit west of Tamworth, is it on the road to Dorrigo or around Bellingen?

That's it Bob. We stayed there a few nights last year. It was free and no time limit (well if there was, it was ignored!). I believe a $10 overnight fee and 1 month limit is being introduced now though. Lots of birdlife and a nice walk around the dam.
