Nightly Goodnight Everyone

Drop in and dribble on about nothing serious. Seriously a mad place to hang out. Better to avoid it if you're not in the mood!!! If you're determined to be sad, bad, mad & angry then move along!!!

I'll leave it Ray.... it's your trademark!!! lol
Keep your eyes open for an old mulberry tree being cut down. Unreal timber when 'processed'.
I'm leaving Kingston in the near future but Leigh across the roads is into wood & brought back logs from all over the world when yachting.
Turned out the best piece of wood was a mulberry tree from his own town.
I'm heading back there in a few minutes so I'll grab a few pics for you.
One table he used drift wood for the legs. Slab of redgum took 4 of us to turn it each time he processed it.
Did you do identical treatments to each side to stop it warping? Looks the goods!

I clicked on it and it stayed upside down. Ray that is a beautiful display. You certainly chose the right piece of timber. It is as if the timber told you what it wanted to be used for.
Medical day today and tomorrow, but then back to organising myself for some big markets.

Goodnight one and all xxx

Early night, tonight... plan to hit the sack WELL before midnight, probably before 2300! (Usually it's 0045~-0130h!)
Somewhat pooped after a busy day assisting with the disassembly & reconstruction of a few antique chairs at Men's Shed this morning.
No more wobbly dinners!
As for previous posts on my Barometer/Thermometer:
T1: it may be 'an Apple thing'... but it's not a core problem!
Dream4red: Yes, the timber was pleading with me for the Barometer/Thermometer. That's why I refused to double my money instantly from the bloke behind me in the queue!
BruceS: Yes, I did clear-lacquer the back as well as the front. Came up so pretty I wasn't sure which side to use for the front!
And I agree, fruit wood always produces beautiful grain. I have some Weeping Mulberry drying at the moment... itching to get it into the lathe!
SWMBO likes the Barometer/Thermometer, too. It has taken pride of place in the dining room.

Well, our pendulum clock is about to sound 11 Bongs...
So it's "Goodnight from me."
"And it's Goodnight from him,"
:D
Regards & God bless,
Ray

Glad to have you back Dot. Next time (if that ever happens), take your own pillow.
A busy day doing administrivia. The sort of things that have to be done, but nobody will notice that they have been done..eg. making price labels and laminating them, putting photos on a facebook page to stop the nagging....
I'm stuffed, so night night all xxx
