Yep Dot, it was the heat, no booze needed to sleep either. It was not a good day on the field for us. So which bed did you and your pussy decide to sleep in tonight? xxxx
Today we drove past Dingo, cause it looked a bit empty. Then we arrived at the Duaringa free camp and it looked a bit too feral for us, with too many campfires already set up, so no "fresh" air. So we drove across the railway lines and found the pub with a caravan area out the back. For $15 for a site with power and water, we are happy with that. Sadly there is very poor reception so my comments are being written fast while the computer seems to be working.

Relax Dot, stay sane and rest xxxx
The mobile lair made it to Biloela with no dramas. The rest of the day was just settling in and tidying the van. Dinner at the local RSL is not a recommended event, the food was not up to par. So we wont eat there again.
travel is tiring, so off to read for a while and to thaw out,

There is a great little caravan park in Dingo, basic but clean, not crowded and you can camp on a site or off on your own in the paddock. Was $15 a night for unpowered from memory.

Re: Nightly Goodnight Everyone
Thanks Peter and Sandra, we missed out on Dingo then. No worries, maybe next year if we travel this route again.
Dotty, you up to mischief yet? Hope it's not too hot for you
xxxx
Well, here it was 1 degree for the morning and got up to 28 for the daytime. So we are still running the heater and electric blanket at night and then wearing tshirts n shorts for the daytime. Go figure.
Had a lovely day wandering the town and being tourists. They have a painted watertower that shows the pioneering history of the region from a female perspective. Very well done and interesting.
Moving on tomorrow and where we stop nobody will know, until we stop. But it will still be in Queensland.
goodnight you lot xxx

Re: Nightly Goodnight Everyone
Dot, the queen sized one will fit a double bed. The electric bits are not all the way to the edges, so a queen will safely do the job. This is the time to research and find one that does different heats for your tootsies and your body. Our one in the van came from Aldi and it does the job very well. It's a queen on a caravan queen sized bed. That means it's a very small double bed, plenty of cuddle space.
Happy shopping.xxxx
We had a little bit of a touristy day, having a long picnic lunch at Mundubberra then drove along until we got to Gayndar. Not a lot here to see. We found the first jockey club in Qld is here , they had the first big horse race in qld, and they still race here. The caravan park is very basic and we will move along again tomorrow.

Re: Nightly Goodnight Everyone
Weird day Dot??? You probably caused that
Hope all is well xxxx
We were tourists today and drove to Kingaroy for the bacon festival. Had a good laugh at the beauty quest with ladies dressed up as fifties "glamour girls" and it was a great farce, all that is wrong with beauty pageants. Still smiling, hours later.
We returned to the van just before the rain started falling gently, but not really going to be a drought breaker.
