1m plus of rain for the year
Well we just hit the 1m plus mark of rain for the year, 1005mm so far
I think there is a lot more on the way though. Last year we got a bit over 2m but it took 5 months!!!

Rob we had our first few spots for the year last week. Seemed very strange turning on the wipers........ I'd forgotten where the switch was!!

Re: 1m plus of rain for the year
I used to use golf clubs when i lived in QLD.
Also a nice long spike on a pole and then the next day I added them to the compost as they are supposed to be good for the garden (AFTER they are dead)
Regards
Brian

While slashing the grass with Brutus the tractor I have been known to veer off course and chase big ones down. No match for a 6' slasher deck

Careful Rob or you'll have Dot on your back!!! I think she'd change her mind once she lived with the things for a while.
A couple of years ago our neighbour came home non stop (practically except for fuel & food) from Mission Beach to SA and had a stow-away Cane Toad either up under the car or in his dinghy. He got home around 2AM in the morning & never unpacked till next day.
A day later we started hearing the Toad croaking each night.
Several nights of searching with torches failed to unearth him.
About a week went by before he got run over about 200 yards away. The croaking stopped after that.
I'm not sure but I've been told that they can't survive in the south of Australia but I was glad when that croaking stopped!!!

You are right there Boss I might end up on the poor buggas back (if he could carry my weight that is)
I hate those horrid animals but I still couldn't kill them unless it was fast.. I think those mongrel things can survive anywhere can't they? Saw on the TV the other night that the toads are in the Florida everglades and killing the gators. Also the junkies are loving the buggers, free trips, they now use the poison for their highs
Don't wory about the cane toads I could use a club on the other useless ferals though

Apparently Toads have rights!
The rights to be euthanized in a garbage bag put in the Freezer I believe, so it is painless!
Our bag of choice is a Baseball Bat up here- Instant and Deadly
