Ray, You should think yourself lucky. Girt has independent front suspension and is fully adjustable. The old beam axle requires a cold bending adjustment done with a big hydraulic press. It's a costa plenty process. But SHOULD only require doing just once.
We took the Winny for a cruise yesterday, did about 250km on all types of roads. We are both happy with the way it rides now , it doesn't feel like hard work anymore.
I will take it back for a bolt check on Monday and then put all the wheel trims back on and get ready for a bit of touring up north/ northwest.

We took the Winny to the Big Wheels Wheel Alignment people today. And as I half expected the axle needs the cold bend treatment to get the camber angle corrected.
Is there a reason that just about every beam axle vehicle that is produced in Japan requires this corrective surgery?
We will also get two new steer tyres. Falken something. They have a higher load rating than the Michelins that they replace. We will also get some new Powerdown shockers. We pick it up in the morning. I will be like a kid with a new toy for a while. :David posted on the old forum about beam axles from Japan in NZ we put a wedge under the front right to fix the prob your having

Re: SuperSparkies tyre wear ??
We have just returned home from a nearly 5,000k trip around Qld. Sort of up the east coast then loop around inland and back. I am happy to report that the money we have forked out on suspension modifications has been well spent. Some of those Qld roads are a bit ordinary, but not as bad as the Newell hwy, with the exception of about 50 km of the Gregory Development road (which is terrible).
There is no sign of tyre wear and it was easy to drive, not fighting it all the time like we had to do before.
Now all I need to do is fix the awning, get a new fridge and modify the electrics a bit.

Re: SuperSparkies tyre wear ??
Bruce, You are right.
Been gunna get it done for a while.
We rushed home because the Gkids made their footy grand final and we promised them we would be there to watch them play.
Need some awning repairs as well. I don't think the cook was travelling all that well in the inland heat anyway. A couple of times she looked like a beetroot by the end of the day.
Peter, Since I shifted the ramps forward a bit which gives it a bit of drawbar weight it doesn't rattle or make any weird noises anymore.
I have to drive back about 4-6 inches before it tilts now, which is about how it should be, according to the Tilta videos.

Nooooo! You don't fill in the hole!!!
If you watch that Tour De France you'll see all the heads/bodies & other bits poking out watching as the race goes past!!
Ask Tanks for advice? I bet he can tell you a story or two about poking a head out of the hatch on a tank!!

Still not as quiet as a split system, but not a bad alternative all the same.
