Finally made it home to the cold and wet. Staying in the bus for a few days just to wind down and our house sitter leaves. The block we sold was a shock to see EVERY tree and shrub has been bulldozed out even the hedge of bottlebrushes' out the front, The place is over run with weeds and the lawn has more winter grass than grass. Must get cracking and start to get the place tidied up. We did 7720ks this time.

Dottie,
Just take comfort from the fact that it’s no longer yours, so no longer your responsibility.
If the new owners want to build a house with a concrete lawn, that’s their decision.
Keep calm and think of England... no, make that Mount Pleasant.
Regards & God bless,
Ray

Yes I know that Ray but to see the whole lot ripped out after yrs of struggling to keep some alive hurt a bit. But they also pulled one of ours out. Spent most of today spraying weeds and another few days work to be done.

Good to arrive home after your trip, I know exactly where you're coming from with the feeling of despair over the bulldozing, when we moved to LM, we rented our previous home & I couldn't believe that the renters dug shrubs & bushes out that I had cared for & fertilised for years, they even cut down a couple of camellia trees.
Don't despair Dot, someone has had that work done to build something new and put their own stamp on things. You will probably soon see something rising from something that now resembles a wasteland. If nothing else, then think of the benefits of not having to worry about, or get that job that needed doing, done. It is a new day in Strathalbyn.
Cheers
