Re: Australian Trivia Only
Well I never would have guessed that in a million years. When I lived in that town, that wall was rendered and painted white.
Hint: It isn't Daylesford.

Not Bendigo. And it is between Halls Gap and Molesworth [emoji6] But not Daylesford.

Damn. Have the same photo but cannot remember what year to check the photos! Definitely not going to try to find but know we were on our way up to Seymour to see Joe & Joy for the weekend.

Found it- Kyneton. Nearly said that before but was not too sure. Did read what it was there for but no idea now. Do I get 1/2 point?

Re: Australian Trivia Only
You can have the full point Kay. The mosaic commemorates the Black Saturday bushfires that occurred on Saturday, 7th February, 2009 with the loss of 173 lives. The mosaic is difficult to photograph because of its size but is well worth a visit to see the detail if in the area.
More information can be found at http://monumentaustralia.org.au/themes/ ... -bushfires
Your turn Kay.

Re: Australian Trivia Only
If you want to see a real memorial to those poor people that lost their lives in the fires that weekend, then go to Marysville Vic.
Most of the main street is rebuilt now, but there are still quite a few front fences and driveways to nowhere on a vacant block.
It is about as stark a reminder as you could get.

Thanks Lesley. Where was I walking to get under this bridge many years ago?
