Hi, all.
Just arrived in Boonah showgrounds for a while - drove over a hundred km the other day and we're exhausted. Hard to believe the bus - now called " Snowflakes" - has done 950 kms so far and will need filling up with diesel soon. it was full when we left Brisbane in mid December and we topped up in Maroochydore last month.
For those who are pleased to state "mine's bigger than yours" a smallish rig was parked near ours yesterday afternoon.

Yes there were two people travelling in it and yes it has been to Cape York and yes the occupants are very tidy and yes they carry 20 ltrs of water. The GVM is 1500kg.
See you on the back roads,

Very neat idea for the minimalist camper/traveller, getting into bed looks a tad tricky and you wouldn't want too many nature calls in the middle of the night eh

Hi, all.
SWMBO and moi just planned an itinerary (horrible word) that involves rushing non-stop to Rosedale sometime this week and thence to Nanango to refuel Snowflake. Should take about two weeks, methinks. Incidentally Rosedale is a free campsite for pub customers. Might take three weeks...

Re: Boonah for a rest
I couldn't find Rosedale in Google Maps except in SA?
Didn't someone say Nanango has changed hands & now has no free camping? I might be wrong though.
You'll be up in Bernie's territory in 2014 I reckon!!!
You're welcome around here Shonky but might take a few years to get here at your pace!
My mother's Gopher would be going past you & doesn't use any fuel. Interested? I know where it's parked at night!!
All tongue in cheek comments above....... she'd fight you off with her walking stick!!!

Re: Boonah for a rest
Rosedale free stop is in Vic. betwen sale and Traralgon. It's supported by the local businesses so in return a bit of support for them is a nice gesture. there is a concreted walking/cycling track under the bridge and into town, a nice comfy walk actually. Last time we were there the local head of the chamber of commerce made a personal visit to all who were stopped there, handed out brochures and had a friendly chat with all, it's some thing all small country towns should think about, it sure works for them.

Hi, all.
Whoops - should read Rosevale. You can appreciate the vast distances we're contemplating.

Re: Boonah for a rest
I have done my first fill since late November so does that make me a high contributor to the hole in the ozone level.
Filled up in Bendigo 22/11/12 and then at Heathcote on 6/2/13 257 Kms. Is that going to fast. And much of that was to get to Kilmore for Blazeaid and I will be here till just before Easter when I will be back in Maldon. I will take the short trip this time as the other one I spent time at Aysons reserve and Greens lake.
May will be a bad month as the plan is Mildura, Broken Hill then Willow Springs and then stop there for a few months. Have to be quiet as I will pass about 100Kms from the kids so don't want them to know
Regards
Brian

Hi, all.
Brian - looks like you're a contender for the junior shonky award. Any others out there?
