Chuck I'm assuming it's a laptop?
Toshiba?
Can you see/tell that the key is staying down or does it appear to be working OK?
Open notepad & type using every key starting at the top left corner etc......... Is it a particular group or random?
I've had several keyboards fail over a few years. Cheap easy repair.
You can actually wash them in a washing machine & let them dry out. I've done it in a bucket of rain water. One was fixed but not the others.
Sounds like Bundy & Coke treatment? :D

Must have scared the crap out of it last night & all seems good at the moment...

But have checked for blu tac - nil. :D

My vacuum cleaner doesn't have a keyboard on it!! ;)

Can't find any napples here & my current keyboard , through continual use, is now a perfect fit for my hands.

Tried taking my keyboard off the laptop & put it in the washing machine but the screen screamed not to be left behind!

Thanks all.
