Julie is good but I've been having a bit of a shitty health issue to come to terms with, but that aside we are loving where we are in the Daintree.
I'm not considering a drop in Lithium for myself. If we keep our current set up long enough to have to replace the AGM's you can rest assured the replacement will be T1 Lithium provided we arent stuck somewhere a long way from Mannum & needing immediate replacement. I think your 100amp max/light current duty product would suit our usage well. But ....... we are swinging back toward the expedition truck possibility, in which case we might have need/room for a few additional luxuries. Mmmmmm espresso.

We loved the fold out campervan type thing when we had our Petersville fold out trailer/tent. It was modified so many times and added onto that it was just about unrecognisable by the end. We did try a caravan on 2 separate occasions but I hated the towing part, so we went back to the light weight trailer.
Once we got the Kombi, fold out tents went out the window although it needed a fold out/erecting type of gazebo that it parked under and gave us a sheltered area.
That trip to Taggerty in Brian's Mazda was the first real taste of motorhome travel where it was mostly all there ready to go, virtually no outside extras needed. Now we have the Hino, with air con, diesel heater, shower and hot water, plenty of battery power and solar, I can't really imagine ever going back to a fold out tent type affair, so I have no idea how you went from the Civillian back to a camper trailer.
I guess it might be me getting old and not wanting to give up the luxuries of home even when travelling, I haven't seen enough of what I can get to with the Hino and either the Kombi or Jimny in tow, so a purpose built 4 X 4 motorhome isn't even a thought on the horizon for us, yet, but who knows

Thanks Bruce, unfortunately I suspect that back & neck problems probably mean that I'm not really up to another full build job any more unfortunately. Modifying yes. Will also be looking for a single cab with walk thru/crawl thru access to house, poptop to keep height down, a max length of preferably 6 metres ,with all the off road suspension/wheels conversion (Parabolic springs & super single rear wheels, plus suspension seats, diff lock, long range fuel tanks, & ability to sustain us for extended periods between resupplying....blah blah blah. Bottom line is that it is no good if it wont take us where we want to go which for us means keeping length & height to a minimum (may go to 6.5m long if departure angle is ok) but travel height needs to be no more than cab height. Realistically I suspect it would be cheaper to buy a good used ready set up unit than to build it myself. At the size we want it would likely still be more 'camper' than 'motorhome ' but with indoor cooking seating & toilet. Lots of conversions out there which look fantastic but which simply wouldn't be able to fit down some of the sort of tracks we've been on. And they are the sort of places which, for us, make the travel worthwhile. May only be 5% or 10% of our total kilometres but not something we want to give up. If we were happy to do so I'd probably be happy with another Civilian/Coaster.

It seems that such vehicles are not selling very quickly at present, so we hope we could pick up something cheaper than these advertised prices. The green one is one we thought would get snapped up very quickly when it first got advertised, (Amesz builds are very well thought of) but that was back in March/April'ish & it's still on the market at the same price.

You mean the 7 metre long 6 wheeler Hilux is not a 'luxo Barge?!

No way would I contemplate taking something like that to some of the places we've been to & want to go to. The extra axle clearly gives greater carrying capacity, but at 7metres long & with that rear overhang & relatively low ground clearance, it would be a major liability in any remotely tough going. Horses for courses, but not for this little pony Vik.
