Your computer being slow to load etc could be the speed of your phone connection.
If it was working good on the land line and the only thing changed was to use the phone , I'd be suspecting the phone data speed .

Fire up the computer and google "Ping Test"
The one by OOLA is good , I think you will find it's very slow and your not getting your advertised speed from the phone data.

The bios battery in a Toshiba should be cr2032 about the size of a shilling ( if you can remember them )
This battery keeps things like the date and systems in suspension so when you turn the computer on it's got the right date etc.
I've never seen anything other than CR2032 in all the computers I've opened.
I have no idea what your bloke from Hardly Normal was looking at but it doesn't sound right ,
Google replace BIOS battery in Toshiba ......(.Model ) and see on a Utube video where and how to get to it .

Thanks Ron. I did look at the batthery and it doesn't look like the usual round numbers. This will become another job to keep the sil out of my hair over the Christmas holidays. The hardly normal guy and I were following the steps to take on google and we both had a second look at the battery thingy. Definitely nothing like an old bob that's for certain.

Today I packed the car with all my glass stuff to be ready in the morning to head off to Hornsby RSL for a Christmas fair....oh goody. Then I can get on with the family Christmas stuff. Present sorting/wrapping and the biscuit baking.. At least all the ingredients are waiting for me to get organised and ready to be turned into biscuits for giving and cake/pudding to be family consumed.

Now insitu at the block for a few days. Saw 4 cop cars between home & here that's the most I've seen in 1 hr than all year. George had an exciting incident on the way here. As usual he was hungry so he got one of those health bars when he bit it one of his teeth broke sheer off at the gum His new name is fang He sees the dentist Tuesday. Helen, your eye news is a bit of a bummer. Hope that you get it sorted soon.

After a very long day and night at Hornsby last night , we came home absolutely wrecked. I slept late today too. Anyway, we did very well with sales, so cannot complain.
Today I started on the Christmas biscuit baking and managed to burn up the first batch totally. They are edible, but overdone. So most people will get some at the bottom of their plateful, in the hope that by the time they eay down to that layer, the recipients will be so pickled that a bit of brown stuff wont be noticed.

Today I finished off the Christmas biscuit baking, then I found the big pot of mixed fruit that has been having a bath in a litre of whilte port since last Wednesday. It smelled delicious. So then I cooked up the Christmas cake/pudding that will be for Christmas Day. Once it came out of the oven and cooled a little bit, I poured over another litre of white port. Oh boy, that smells divine.

I think I will float off to bed now, nighty night xxx
