Nightly Goodnight Everyone

Drop in and dribble on about nothing serious. Seriously a mad place to hang out. Better to avoid it if you're not in the mood!!! If you're determined to be sad, bad, mad & angry then move along!!!

Dot how far was it from Mount Pleasant?
That Southerly change sure caught a few firies out?
One day they'll learn how to reduce the risk BEFORE summer.

Impossible...most areas can't get to..look at the distance between Gosford and Lithgow...nothing can be done to eliminate the risk with hazard reduction...look how big the burrenggong valley is impossible to get in to most of it .
Stop the arsholes who are lighting them .
We when a year or two younger used to go camping thru most of those areas.
Bernie .
Edit....funnily we was watching the chief fire officer on the ABC...he said in effect the drought will stop the fires going west from the rangers. Nothing left to burn..

Feet up Dot? Enjoy being awol mate xxxx

Fires between Gosford and Lithgow could have been prevented by selective burning off during winter with no stress on anyone. Yes they are huge areas with inaccessible gullies, but can be properly contained with fire retardent sprayed around the areas they want to contain. Sure they will never totally prevent bush fires, but can certainly manage to keep the areas a lot smaller and in individual fires, never joining together to become massive fires. So said a firey from our local brigade last week.

The fire near us here at Forster is still on the map, so it still is burning, but listed as under control. At least we have heard no chopers today.

sweet dreams out there xxx

Bruce we only know the roar between Birdwood and Mt P was blocked for a while but seems ok now.
Can't keep up with all the fires they are everywhere. I buggered myself out today and now poor ol G is paying the price. I was feeling rather useless (down day) so out came blower machine & the pressure cleaner and I started at the front of the house then down one side of the house then started the bit of pavers out the back well that was a thing I should not have started but stubborn me continued till it was done. I chucked some dish washing stuff on the windows and fly screens then let go with the water blaster. The amount of dust that came off the walls as well, now there is only 2 more sides of the house and the huge paved pergola to get done. Maybe take 2 days this time. G was re stacking pavers and pallets and also mulching shrub trimmings so it was a very productive day . So time to say Goodnight everyone x :D Goodnight Miles from Utah (where ever you are) x :D

"tanks" here---RobertNotBob,
check this tune out.
I remember the days, about 75 years ago, when almost every second person had a mouth organ or could play the gum leaf.

I tried to post this link in another section but the tune is worth listening to twice.
I'm now 87 years old, having experienced another birthday, and I'm still living in WA, single (gave up looking), white hair, no teeth, no money, no worries.
I plan to have another birthday next year.

Dot, that doesn't sound like being restful.....naughty. Maybe a quiet day tomorrow ?? xxxx

Today we had rain. That usually happens at Forster for Christmas, but we really didn't expect it to happen as usual. It wasn't heavy enough to knock out the nearby bushfire, but enough to damp down the area that we are in , enough to make us feel safe from fire now. The air is much cleaner and it's really cool now. So looks like we should have a good Christmas. Not like our South Coast where the main roads have all been crossed by fires and are currently cut. So people trying to go South for Christmas probably wont get there. Probably wouldn't want to be there either at the rate the fires are travelling.

Well , all of you stay safe this Christmas. Hope you can have a wonderful time with family and friends and may the New Year bring good health and happiness also. xxx
nighty night xxx
