It's not the Mac that's the problem, it's the iPhone. When I post pics from the Mac, they've been taken on my actual digital camera & either emailed or hard-wire transferred to the laptop, then posted from there. No orientation problems.
It's only the iPhone which insists on turning my pics 90°.
Some time ago, someone posted a solution from Apple Help (?) which solved the problem... then my phone karked it & I had to buy a new one. The new one still rotates the pics. Anyone remember the fix, or where I can find it? It's not on Apple's website.
To get the ° symbol on a Mac, as in 38°C, you press shift-option-8.
Dunno what the Windoze key combination is.

OK, I found it.
Alt/0176 (on keypad)

I used to know a lot of them when constructing websites in basic html.
Often used the '©' for the copyright symbol.
