The wire at the Junsi bottom pin where the (-) symbol is must go to the negative terminal. The JST plug can go in the 9 pin Junsi input either way up, so the red wire could be battery negative or battery positive, just depends which way it was wired to the battery. If it is wired with the read wire to battery positive (I always connect them that way) and you plug it in upside down, the small black wire to the alarm will go up in smoke if it is connected to battery negative via the timer board and wrecks the timer board and the Junsi, so best to make sure which wire goes to the battery negative before you plug it into the Junsi.
The PL20 must see battery positive at the battery positive connection and battery negative must be connected to the battery negative terminal BEFORE the solar cables are connected.

Oh!!
My Junsi came with the plug with wires that would only go in one way. It could not be turned the other way around.
Maybe I had an older version?

Bloody hell Wayne. How many different threads do you need to cover your battery saga? It’s getting spread over multiple threads, including threads started by others, which makes it very ‘bitty’ & harder to follow than it needs to be. A single ‘Wayne’s batteries’ thread would be better. It would also make it more useful/interesting for others, which after all is one of the main functions of a forum.
