Mistral MSDF 15 desk fan. If you have 240v available try one of these before you outlay all that cash. I paid $10 each and bought two. And I barely hear them running. They are 11 - 13W

Craig I've often wondered about the lack of protection around the fan. I noticed the shape of the blades being similar to boat propellors for use in weeds or for flicking pot ropes away so I guess they must be OK.
I wonder how a 3-4 year olds fingers would go?
Looks like they are single speed.
Definately cheap enough to try out. Where are they sold?

it does not hurt at all when you stick your fingers into the blades. it simply stops spinning. We bought these at Harris Scarfe. I would have bought more at the time but they only had the two.

i was waiting for the finger to go into the fan, what a disappointment  We bought a number of these when Mr Val did the special buy thing, very happy with the performance and have acedentally put a hand or elbow into the fan, nothing, it just stops, gives you one hell of fright when you do it though  Unfortunately, the ceiling fans at home are no where near as forgiving  it's usually taking a jumper off they get me, the problem with being tall and having long arms.

Good that you have some, googled them and no retailer has them anywhere that I could find. :)

This freight from the US is getting stupid. Don't know what's going on but recently tried buying a roof vent from the states via ebay and the freight was huge, (can't remember the exact rate now) but it was way over the top. Contacted the seller and according to him ebay set the freight rate ????? don't know how that can be unless its unique to ebay USA as I haven't seen it over here like that. Even freight to regional Oz is getting out of hand these days.

Good looking fans though.

We were lucky enough to pick up a white 807 from Whitworths in Hobart. it is now fitted and ready for the next heat wave. We don't have a Whitworths where we live but was visiting Hobart when we saw this post.

Just more US sellers poor handling of the truth, they must think the rest of the world are stupid and they are the only people in the world that have the item. Amazon is worth having a look at, stuff they have in stock at their warehouse is a lot cheaper freight than the stuff forwarded on direct from a supplier.

Amazon is a good supplier. Bought quite a few things from them over time.
