Yes I think thank is my problem every thing else seem to be working I used to be able to measure volt in then before the clutch job last year now there is very little voltage coming through

The usual method, charge by the hr while being trained in a system they do not understand until they feel confident they could duplicate the system themselves. Once they have reached that level of competence they will tear everything out and redo it, the same as it was, but with the basic problem removed .... like crook fuse or loose connection. Then you get a bill for the training time and the full replacement of a system that did work before so couldn't have required a total replacement ....... Seen the same scenario quite a few times now, eventually the auto sparkie rings me to find out how it works, I give him the same list of tests I would give you, he gives me the results and I tell him what's wrong. Then he fixes it if he hasn't stuffed it up even worse and charges like a wounded bull for fixing something he could have fixed on his own anyway.Mrcoolabah1au wrote: ↑Wed Feb 12, 2020 9:54 pm Had another visit to the bus todayso I shall have to start a fault finding diagnosis plan the solar panels are good so he said next diagram roof to inside which go to the ssr so from there to next in line which would be solar control after that we go to the Kemo timer ⏱ tracing the wires that must victron meter then on to the junsi display

As far as problems with the solid state relays, cheap evil bay relays are cheap for a reason, they are garbage factory rejects or made by a mob who really doesn't know what they are doing. Good Solid State Relays cost good money, are easily killed by not understanding the principles of current flow or expecting the relay to control a voltage far higher than it was designed for ..... you can't control a solar array with an open circuit voltage of 40vdc with a relay designed to handle 32vdc. If the solid state relay says it's designed for 100vdc and it costs less than $150, you can almost bet it won't do what it says it will

solid state relays can't handle getting hot and run at full load. The max continuous current should be no more than 50% of the rated current and have an active cooling system designed to keep the relay heatsink under 60*C and closer to 50*C if possible.
Took me quite a while to get the design right, but there are hundreds of the other there that have been working for a long time now, some well over 8 yrs and still going strong.

Re: Wayne world
Volts or amps Wayne? How you checked with your clamp meter if there are amps going in or out of the battery leads, just to make sure it isn't a problem with the device that is measuring the current flow? You might be trying to fix something that isn't broken ....Mrcoolabah1au wrote: ↑Thu Feb 13, 2020 11:38 am Yes I think thank is my problem every thing else seem to be working I used to be able to measure volt in then before the clutch job last year now there is very little voltage coming through![]()

Re: Wayne world
Volts I hope most of it work after I but them back the way you told me via email the the air ram on the door stop working so that when I to it to the auto to get a ram
But because he had the bus in side his shed over the weekend the battery went flat and he try to tell me his side of the story and basically told me what us have said
Had it working at one stage but only on solar
What do you think of the victron battery charger as there is one they say will charge lithium half the projecta ones
The only reason I ask Scotts auto is I was hoping it mite be cheaper than driving to your place 500 or 600 km there and then the return trip
If I buy the new charger it mite fix some things but the old system ran for five years or more without much pain thanks

Re: Wayne world
The biggest Victron 12v battery charger I can find is 30 amps, unless you go to one of their inverter/chargers, then they go to 70 amps or 120 amps, but more $$ and the big one, many more $$. The Victron unit does have built in Bluetooth so that might be handy, but it would still need a relay installed in the 240vac input side so the T1 Lithium control box can turn it off if a cell goes high voltage. Your call Wayne, I've never used one so I can't say if they are good or not or how long they will last.

Re: Wayne world
The Junsi units are like rocking horse dropping now, so we will need to reuse the one out of the system you already have. Apart from that, everything has been updated in the new model control boxes so nothing else in it is really reusable.

Ok have two spare junsi at home still
I still have heard from the auto Electrian told him not to touch anything as he did not like your setup
Yes if I have not got it going by Taggerty maybe you can call in here

Sorry Wayne, Taggerty will be an express trip there and back because work will get in the way of a holiday or diversions from the fastest path.Mrcoolabah1au wrote: ↑Fri Feb 14, 2020 2:34 pm Ok have two spare junsi at home still

I can understand the auto electrician doesn't like my set up, he can't understand it

Re: Wayne world
Ok thanks for that great message
finally got the bus back today so if it’s no wet tomorrow we may get to see what fuses have blown if if it’s something else how do I test a ssr to check if it’s good or bad notice the light on the timer was still working but the junsi was saying Error,Error....Error
The victron appears to be working as least that one good think
its all a bit up in the cloud as the moment as auto elect said it must be the batteries
